The stuff that affects the stuff in my life.
Give me a break!!

Okay, so I was sitting here watching the news tonight and Channel 2 starts doing a piece about the KFC coupon for a free dinner which includes two pieces of their new grilled chicken a roll and two sides (which I was able to enjoy earlier this week) and was appalled by the lame brains they [Ch. 2] managed to round up for two seconds of fame.
So here's the deal... Customers were turned away from KFC because they didn't have enough supply to meet the demand. So they said they'd do rain checks instead and include a free soft drink for the trouble. I think great! Then out of nowhere comes the most two ungrateful and backward souls in Utah to comment on the issue. (I just love how loyal the media is to the image of our state.)
The gist of their comments (and imagine it in the poorest English you've heard in your life):
They [KFC] make us come all the way down here so they end up wasting our time and essentially our ink from printing off the coupon and they don't even have a meal for me.
Another lady said something to the effect of:
Well, if you're gonna announce it on Oprah you better make sure you have enough food for all of the hungry customers.
Seriously???? I'm sure they expected a large crowd, but not people lined up out the door waiting to feed their whole family!!!! I think it's safe to say I was utterly disgusted when I saw how tacky the piece was. Anyway, my point: Give me a break and get a life.

Wow! Ungrateful schleps...it never ceases to amaze me when people act that way. And it never ceases to amaze me that the media takes ahold of such negative stuff and runs with it.Posted 05-13-2009 at 12:07 AM by Meticulous madness
