| Well, after trying both kinds available here in Tooele, I have formed an opinion on this stuff. The kind of AV juice you can buy at GNC is more expensive per ounce and tastes distinctly nasty. The kind you can buy at WM (it's by the fiber powders a couple of aisles down from vitamins) is more affordable and much less nasty tasting. I don't know if that's a good thing or if that means it isn't as strong, but the % of aloe vera in it is like 99 or 98%, so that's good enough for me. I haven't noticed any distinct difference from taking it, yet, but I'll let you know. I saw Dia at WM and we were chatting and she mentioned again that it could take 2-3 months to see any difference. I also started at 1/4 cup per day and have only been up to 1/2 cup per day for about 2 weeks. So that's my opinion. I would recommend the WM kind simply because it goes down easier. Also, after researching the difference between pills and liquid forms of this stuff, liquid is said to be far superior, because it's the liquid of the plant that's beneficial- when they make pills, they are dehydrating it and squashing it into pill form- so they're not as good. |

| Ive kind of been peeping in and out of the discussions here about aloe. Aloe is a kick I have been in and out of for 6-7 years. Any of you guys ever considered using the aloe leaf itself? I started out buying the juices, but I never read anything really good about the processing, so I switched to using the actual leaf. (That was 5-6 years ago, the processing of aloe juice has probably improved since then) There was a time I had about 25-30 aloe plants to keep up with my doses. LET ME TELL YOU..... its an acquired skill to eat real aloe!!!! I developed a technique for each dose that I could handle and I was getting far more of the beneficial stuff than what what in several doses of anything in a bottle. If you even touch your tongue to the stuff inside the leaf, it makes you wonder how it can exist in anything that tastes good. Since we moved here, I haven't cared for the plants and am only down to a few and I haven't been eating it. I was just curious if anyone else here has tried it that way. Seems now there are even more benefits then I was aware of when I started, I need to get back on it. Last edited by mxmama; 12-14-2007 at 05:44 PM. |
