Well, I know BS isn't nuts about it, but (outside of the Book of Mormon, which changed my life, and continues to enlighten and uplift me), I love "Remembering Wholeness". I would recommend it to anyone, but with reservation, knowing that not everyone is ready for what it teaches.

As far as fiction goes, my all-time favorite book series is Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" which starts with "The Eye of the World". I can't pick just one favorite, though- I really love the "Twilight" series, anything by Tony Hillerman, all the books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, and the LDS authors Chris Stewart (his series is called "The Great and Terrible" and starts with "The Brothers" and Gerald Lund's series about Jesus- "The Kingdom and the Crown" which starts with "Fishers of Men".

That's more than you asked for, but I get carried away when talking about books. I've got a long list of "self-help" type books that I totally would recommend to anyone. I would recommend all my favorites to everyone I know, unless they expressed a real dislike for the genre. I think we should give all genres a chance, though. Except romance, ugh...

My most favoritest book ever has got to be "Your Child's Self Esteem". Great book. E recommended that I read "The Pavillion of Women" (I think it's by Pearl S. Buckman) which was pretty good, too. I have given her a hard time about the codependant issues, but really liked the message of the story.

I soooooooooooooo love to read--all kinds of books--and it is virtually impossible to choose just one. However, since I just finished re-reading God's Smuggler by Brother Andrew, I'll go with that one for now. It is an incredible book that just goes to show what God can do with one humble, willing person. It truly is an amazing story. I chose this book for our book club this month, and I can't wait to hear what the others have to say about it.

Is it fiction or non-fiction? Sounds like an interesting book.

I really live feelings buried alive never die. I'm still not done, but the book is awesome. -- I think I need to see if I can find it on CD so I can rip it to MP3 and listen to it on my iPhone... That would help me finish it.

Currently anything Dr. Wayne Dyre is on my top list:

It's never crowded along the extra mile
How to be a no limit person
There's a spiritual solution to every problem
101 ways to transform your life.
Getting in the gap meditation
Meditation for manifesting

Just to name a few

I'm more of a books on tape/cd/mp3 kind of person though, so actually reading for me is somewhat laborious. I get much more from listening to it.

Oh, and BW, it's not the book I don't like, it's the Author. I've never read the book, and I'm sure it's good, I just don't care for the author.

If you've ever heard any of her CD/Tapes/mp3's you would more than likely agree. The certainly "thinks" she's all that. And she may well be, but nothing I've listened to has proved she is. I am really turned off by a lack of real caring, and I get the distinct feeling that she wants my money, and could care less about my well being.

I actually had the same problem with my last therapist. Not so much the therapist, but the spouse, which really took what should have been a great experience and ruined it for me. I probably should see a different therapist just so I can get over this though, because it's stupid.

Hey maybe that's my language of love??? I want to be cared about maybe?

I know what you're talking about here because you and I talk about this so I hope you don't mind my next few comments. Do you really feel like this person ruined your experience? Is it possible for someone else to have the ability to do that? I'm just surprised you're giving this person so much power over whether or not you succeed. It doesn't sound like you.

This is a bit off topic, but I thought it was worth talking about.

"Remembering Wholeness" can be helpful to some, but not for everybody.

I don't know... I think I allowed the other stuff to get in the way.

I'm not giving them power? It was and still is my own problem. I chose it -- I also already stated that. It has nothing to do with my success, just to do with the experience.

Can't I have a bad exprience, yet still succeed? I think I can.

I also want to read the following by David R Hawkins, M.D. PhD

Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior
The Eye of the I: From Which Nothing Is Hidden

He's got more but I'll start with these.

Oh, this isn't what I was understanding you to say. What I heard was that the outcome of your experience was determined by the spouse of your therapist. I didn't think it sounded like you. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yes, but I need to read through it again. Probably from more of an approach that you took the second time around - as reference.

God's Smuggler is non-fiction about a man who smuggles Bibles behind the iron curtain. Every single person who has borrowed it from me & read it has been deeply touched. It may be difficult to find in a library or bookstore, but it is well worth buying.

I'm more of a Book on c.d. person, too, because I spend so much time in my car these days.

BS, do you have a bunch of BonCD's or MP3's (for the Dyre books you were talking about)? I feel a little sheepish asking this, because I typically am not a "borrower," but funds are tight (and I commute way too much)...

If you do have a bunch, would you mind me borrowing one or two? I promise I would take good care of them AND return them promptly!

(and I'm sure I could offer a plate of brownies, cookies or something fun in return)

They are all MP3's for me. I could easily burn them to CD though.

AWESOME!!! Thank you. I would REALLY love that. Do you want me to bring over some cd's?

And thanks Dia, too, for your suggestion! I always forget about the library for Books on tape. That IS a good option! And can I just tell you that I have never even gone to the Tooele library? That is so sad, for as long as we've lived here. I'm sure they do story-time for the kiddos, right? Does anybody know off the top of their heads? I need to look into it for sure! I just always use the library by my work when I need something.

Anyway, thanks guys!

Thanks for starting this thread, too. I'm building up a pretty good book list for myself.

I think I have heard that, but my library card is actually a Murray card. I'm not certain Murray city participates? Anyway, I'll have to look into it. Where do you go to pick them up when you do this?
