Disgusting New TV Show on CBS

How many of you have heard about this disgusting new TV show coming out in June called Swingtown on CBS? I am abhorred by it. I never thought I would live to see the day when I'd hear about actors portraying such an immoral lifestyle on shows available to the general public in our own homes. I am wanting to know if any of you know who I would write to at CBS to let them know I do not want this TV show airing. I'm guessing I'm not the only one feeling this way.

I have no idea, but I totally agree- totally immoral and reprehensible! There is a cable show called "Swingers", but I don't know if it's the same premise or not- I refuse to check it out to see! Yikes. If you figure out who to contact, post it here- I'd like to know, too.

Just make sure you go down to the very very bottom of the page where it says terms of corporation, terms of use, privacy policy, feedback, and site map. When you click on feedback you'll get a pop up window that allows you to send an e-mail to CBS giving them feedback on something you've seen them air. When you pick your category, pick primetime and then at the very bottom of that category click on other-shows not listed (or something like that). Hope this helps.

You go, girls! They absolutely need to know that many consider those shows to be unacceptable. I should probably let them all know that I no longer have TV channels for this very reason...so they know it can affect their bottom line. If money doesn't flow into them, that's when they seem to pay attention. I'm watching more and more where my money is going and why to make sure that it is making a statement more in line with my values. It's not easy, but I'm trying. Every little bit...

I think that's awesome E. I find myself disgusted at the "pornographic" commercials they are airing now. I too have started to think about what it is we're letting in and supporting with our purchases. It's easy just to let it go, thinking it's not a big deal. I guess that's how we've gone from Leave it to Beaver to Las Vegas.

In one of my Gospel Doctrine lessons that I taught there was a quote about how we tend to accept things that are only slightly worse that what we currently accept. It's a very mildly sloped path, but if you walk it for very long you can sure go downhill.

One more reason to speak to those networks, huh? I kinda think that "actively seeking to undermine" and "don't want to" seems a little strong and rather biased, because that's not the issue so much as finding a way to portray a happy, healthy marriage in a way that isn't somewhat boring to most viewers. I mean we're just not always a barrel of (canned) laughter, because we do happen to get along...you know? But I'm sure some clever writer out there could TRY a little harder.

CBS takes financial hit before dropping ‘Swingtown’
Dear Dori,

The CBS network finally heard you loud and clear after losing millions of dollars in the Swingtown money pit.

As a result of your dedicated efforts in convincing every major advertiser to pull their commercial ads from Swingtown, CBS has decided to pull the plug and give up.

Swingtown was another brash attempt by CBS to push the envelope on network television. The weekly dose of group se*, casual drug use and teacher-student intimate relationships took its toll as ratings plummeted and advertisers put it on their “do not buy” list.

I firmly believe had you not taken time to get involved, this program would continue to air. Thanks to you, CBS has lost this fight and is giving up. The final episode will air this Friday night.
