| Okay, have any of you ever bought the church's cocoa from the cannery? We have a big can of it, and we don't know how much cocoa to add to a cup of water to have it taste good. We tried 2 Tbsp, like our regular brand, and it was nasty. I can keep experimenting, but I only have so much patience, so I thought I'd just ask here and see if anyone knows what I'm supposed to do to make this taste good? Thanks much |

| EEW never mind- I tasted some of the chocolate on my finger and it was bad- really really bad. I didn't even think hot chocolate could spoil, but this stuff was nasty. So I had to throw the whole can away. Problem solved! |

| Yuck! Nope...bad cocoa mix will never make good hot cocoa. |

| Yeah, now that I think about it we've had it for like 2 years- when we first got it we tried to make it but couldn't get the measurements right, but now it's just gone bad. I didn't know that could happen. Usually anything chocolate doesn't stick around long enough to spoil! |

| For the next can...experiment away. I've never known either, but all my kids prefer a different amount. I'm guessing a TBS to a half a cup hot water is about our standard. I like mine REALLY sweet, so I put in a lot more than that. I just dump it in till I get it right. Also, if you mix it in with cool whip stuff, it makes a very tasty and easy whipped frosting for cakes. Growing up, our favorite cake had this type of whipped frosting between and over 4 layers of cake (you cut two regular layers in half). then you drizzle a fudge icing over the top. SUPER YUM. Just thought I'd share! We love the stuff at our house. |

My dad makes ALL kinds of great "fondue" type cheese dips with the cannery's [macaroni 'n] cheese mix. Off topic, I know - but your idea reminded me. |

| We used to use a couple of containers of yogurt (whatever flavor we wanted) and mixed it with cool whip. Then we would cover an angel food cake with that mixture. It was very yummy! |

![]() It's so "summery" and light delicious! Actually, we make it year-round. I don't know what makes me say "summery." It's just the adjective I've always used. MMmmmm. My mouth is salivating. |

| We do something similar for fruit salad...though if I don't have any cool whip on hand, I do fruit yogurt very effectively too. Easy! It's nice how we've moved from hot chocolate to nice healthy fruit salad... lol. See how dumb your question wasn't, BW? |
