Do you have a favorite Halloween TV special that you make sure you watch with your kids every year? We have a couple of traditional choices- Charlie Brown (which is seriously awesome) and I LOVE the old Ichabod Crane cartoon that's narrated by Bing Crosby- it isn't on tv, it's on dvd, though- called "Ichabod and Mr. Toad" because it includes Mr. Toad's Wild Ride cartoon on the same dvd. We also like "The Nightmare Before Christmas". I also remember loving the Garfield special when we were kids. I think there were a few others we watched growing up, but these are the only titles I can think of! I think with the popularity of dvds, tv stations don't run the holiday specials like they used to. Any other titles you recommend?

I found The Addams Family DVDs at the library, and my kids are enjoying them. I know it isn't a Halloween "special", but it fits the theme. My all-time favorite is Charlie Brown. Gotta love the ghost costume with all the holes!

Oh, we also just checked on our library website under "Halloween DVD" and came up with a bunch! I requested things like: Dora, Little Bear, Clifford, Sesame Street (OK, so those are for younger kids, but DS still watched them with DD2), and Garfield & Charlie Brown. There were many others, but I can't remember them right now. See what you can find through your library.

And what about Casper. The cartoons are very cute and the movie that came out in 1995 was fun too. My kids liked it anyway. My two year old is very much into ghosts right now. I think I'll hunt this one down and see how she likes it.

How about The Little House On the Prairie episode where Laura and Albert dress up like Indians for Halloween and Albert has that dream. Now there's a classic.

I have to agree that Charlie Brown is the all time classic at our house. We also like the Addams Family and my kids LOVE The Corpse Bride this year. For us "adults", how about Edward Scissorhands?
