We arrived, we saw, we left. How's that for a recap of my weekend?

Just kidding. It was great. It was a lot of driving so I would've loved for it to be a couple of days longer but it was so much fun nonetheless. My sister-in-law's mom owns a condo down in St. George so we stayed there. Arrived there on Thursday night around 10:00. I think the highlight of that night was when we all threw our feet up and started gabbing. I decided to wax my eyebrows and my mother-in-law was absolutely amazed at the pampering I was giving to myself. The next morning when I got out of the shower I decided to file my heels and my mother-in-law again was just hilarious. She just kept saying, "I just love watching you take care of yourself." Then when I started putting my make up on (which I was doing at the kitchen table so I could chat w/ everyone) she just stared at me and kept saying, "I am so intrigued by all the pampering you do to yourself." I was like, "Are you kidding me? This is the only time I get to do any of this stuff to myself.....EVER." We all got a chuckle out of it. It may help you to know that my MIL only wears lipstick and blush and maybe mascara.

Went to Chile's for lunch (I recommend their Southwestern Eggrolls - it's in the appetizer section) - I just have to tell you all the places I went to for food because I rarely get out of Tooele and it was so fun!

When we got to LV my sisters-in-law were all dying that I had never been there before so they had a fun time showing me around. I was defintely in culture shock. I totally thought that that kind of lifestyle was only in the movies but it really is real life down there....a little too much for me, me thinks.

We went to the Cheesecake Factory....SOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!!! I had heard that the food there was okay but the cheesecake was fantabulous but we asked the server to recommend some dishes for us and all of us loved what we got. And yes, the cheesecake was delicious. We got that after the concert.

Okay, so the concert. Celine Dion has an amazing voice. It sounds so good on the radio and stuff but it is absolutely breathtaking when you're listening to her live. All of us cried at one point just totally amazed that we were really there. I will have to say this though, if you are wanting to go watch Celine Dion in concert that isn't what you're getting. You're really watching Celine Dion sing to people dancing. Don't get me wrong, the dancing part was great, I just wanted to see more of her. She didn't really interact w/ the audience very much and everything she said felt very scripted. It made me wonder if she's a really shy person. It was a 90 minute show and she stuck to that 90 minutes. That part of it was a little disappointing to me. Still a wonderful show though. I'm so glad I went. Got home at 2 in the morning. That was torture!!!

On Saturday I did a little outlet shopping and found the comforter I love at Tuesday Morning and didn't buy it because I'm waiting for the price to come down. My SIL and I found our MIL's Christmas gift at TJ Max and we both found a large W to hang in our houses somewhere - I think mine is going in my hall, we'll see. If any of you like the Pizza Factory, I ate there for you on Saturday. It was delicious! I got home about midnight on Saturday and that was it. It was so much fun. I can't wait til we plan our next get-a-way. Okay, here's a funny for you before we came home. My MIL tells us (about 5 different times - so I'm understanding that it's important) that she wants to show all of us the house she was born in. (It's by the St. George Temple.) So after pizza we drive down Main St. a little ways and (we're in two cars and my MIL is in the lead car) and we do a U-turn, drive for a little bit in the other direction and do another U-Turn. Then we start switchbacking the roads. This went on for about 15 minutes. My SIL's were all dying because we all thought she knew where this house was. So they call their dad. He starts laughing and says, "I don't know where that house is, she tried to get me to find it for her the last time I was down there w/ her." Oh, so funny. Needless to say, we never did see the house where BS's mom was born in.

Anyway, I really enjoyed my trip because BS is not only capable of taking care of our children but competent as well. ....I think you all know what I mean when I say that. It was great to be able to get away and to really enjoy myself because I wasn't worried about what was going on here at home. In case any of you were wondering about how BS did on dinners....all of you mothers will enjoy this. I told BS that I felt bad that I didn't prepare any freezer meals for him before leaving. He looked at me like I was nuts and said, "Don't worry about us, we'll be just fine." On Thursday night they went to Little Caesars and picked up enough pizzas and crazy bread to last them for the entire weekend. I don't know why I think that's so funny but it is. Absolutely nothing wrong w/ it, just puts a smile on my face and skip in my step. AND, BS had the boys clean the house (spotless) for me before I got home. It was cherry on top. He told me he's really been trying to be a lot better since reading my blog. Go BS!!!! You're awesome.

Anyway, that's my trip.

It sounds like so much fun. I'm glad you got a chance to get away. It sounds like it was well worth the effort.

It makes me want to plan something for my sister-in-laws. Maybe I should do that. Not Vegas by any means, but maybe a movie night or something.

That sounds like fun!

Just as a side note for anyone who's contemplating getting away for the weekend. BS and I both noticed that before I left I was really wound up and because of that, so were the kids. It took the whole weekend for me to wind down and for BS to work his magic here and help the kids wind down as well. It didn't take long to figure out that my way of doing things were going to stress him out so he ran things his way and it helped everybody in the long run.

Sounds fabulous, Diva! I would LOVE to go with my sisters on a road trip. I might just have to plan something one of these years. I really want to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, as that is my most fav. dessert. I heard one is coming to SLC, so one day soon!

Glad you made it back in one piece and big time KUDOS to BS for house cleaning- that is going above and beyond and he deserves a big Hooray!!

Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun! And what a great husband you have! DH and I saw him at Maceys, and I was quite impressed. I thought the kids looked well taken care of and happy. And your youngest was so cute, devouring his icecream and wanting more!

The kids and BS were able to create a lot of memories this past weekend together. It was fun for everyone involved! I was a little jealous when I found out they went out and got ice cream since that's one of my favorites!!!!!

I absolutely LOVED hearing about the weekend fun, 5D. I felt like I was there with you. I especially giggled about driving back and forth trying to find a mystery house (sounds just like my family), and the pizza lasting for a few days back at home (again...sounds JUST like my DH). Too funny!

Heel filing, eyebrow waxing and makeup - NICE...you really WERE a DIVA!!!

LOL! Thanks MM. Sounds like we need to swap some stories since we lead parallel lives.

We really will have to swap stories! We'd laugh our heads off I'm sure.

I get SUCH a kick out of your entries and your sense of humor, (and BS's too).
