Default polygamous family Christmas

This is a 2 page story about a lady who grew up with 35 or something siblings.
It was very interesting to see an insiders perspective. I actually have an understanding of what these people believe and WHY they are doing what they do. Basically this "LDS" group wont allow the legal system to intrude on what there own religious beliefs are.
I think she grew up in the 40s or 50's not sure, but the story starts somewhere in the 30's. VERY interesting and enlightening, I thought I would share

The hardships they faced are really sad.

That was fascintating. Thanks for sharing. I have 32 cousins, but I can't imagine having that many siblings!!! I guess you'd never be at a loss for someone to play with.

I grew up near a few groups of polygamous families in the suburbs of Salt Lake City. They attended our public schools. The children had friends at school, but the families mostly kept to themselves. I've always thought that people should be allowed to live their religious beliefs as long as it isn't hurting anyone. However, those, like Warren Jeffs & the leader mentioned in the story who use violence, fear, or isolation to make people follow them should be stopped!

Yep! I totally agree!

Thinking about it in more detail, it would be kind of nice having another lady or two to help with all the stuff like cooking, dishes and laundry

(Not that my husband doesn't help, its just his methods don't always meet my standards)

The chores are about the only things I wouldn't mind sharing
