Default Thanks for a great time!

Hey FR and LnF, I just wanted to say thanks for getting the camping trip off the ground. It wouldn't have been much of a camping trip if anybody else hadn't gone so thanks to all of you other BnS'ers and closet BnSer's who joined us as well. It was so much fun to go w/ friends. I have always gone camping w/ family and so this was a new experience for me and it was a lot of fun. I had so much fun getting to know everyone better. I always feel like I'm so rushed for time when I see you all here at home so it was nice to just sit and relax and chit chat. I think an extra day for us would've been wonderful. I think all of you have great kids and I'm so impressed w/ you as parents. I learned a lot about how to be a better mom on this trip. Thanks for your examples!

I'm sorry to all of you who were not there w/ us because BS never got his camera out so we can't share our trip w/ you. You'll just have to come next year!!!!

BW, you will think this is great! BS didn't get any sleep the night before the trip so guess who drove the motor home to our camping spot? Yep, you guessed it. I should start losing my hair in about 14 days due to all the stress I encountered on the way up. I told BS that I felt like I was on the Fear Factor facing one of my greatest fears. Now I feel like I could do it again but I was freaking out on the way up Parley's and on the way down to Strawberry Reservoir.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for a great time and I really look forward to doing it again.

Hey, when is the WIC camp? I need to plan for that and my kids would love it. Also, sometime me and the kids would like to go up Middle Canyon for a few days as well. Anyone is welcome to join us up there if they'd like to.

I 2nd your sentiments. I had a blast and it was a very needed vacation for me. I feel refreshed and ready for Life again, and previously, I felt like I was in a rut big time.

I also got to know LnF's DH a lot better, so the trip was worth it just for that. He's a very cool guy. All in all I would do it again in a heart beat.

That's awesome! I agree, life was getting stale around here and this kind of shook things up a bit. I feel refreshed as well.

I want everyone who went on the camp this week to know we had a blast with all of you. I haven't laughed as hard as I did around the fire in a long time. I posted some pictures. Sorry I didn't take more but our batteries in the camera died and all I have is the boat trip. It was so nice getting to know all of you better and just hanging out. It was nice taking turns cooking and the food was delicious.

5'D and BS you have some pretty great kids. You are great parents.

I think the camp host was glad to see us leaving today. I think we had thirty kids running around causing trouble throughout the camp. Really they were all pretty good and played well together and seemed to have a great time together.

We need to make this a yearly event, and plan it early enough so more people can go. I am so glad my husband was able to get to know you BS as well. He really needed to get to know all of you Dad's better.

My son said something funny today about the trip. He said, "I'm glad to know that there are other families that are the same as we are." I asked what he meant by that and he couldn't believe that other children were fighting and getting yelled at by their parents and that some Dad's slipped out some innocent cussing words. He feels much more normal after this trip. So thanks for letting my children know we are pretty normal as families go!!

Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Well written, LnF! I agree w/ everything you just said, and that's hilarious about what your son said. I can only imagine who's parents he's talking about. BTW, great pics! I'm so glad you got some. Thanks for posting them for all of us to see.

No we don't, and I wouldn't feel comfortable with one anyway, because the field is a fire just waiting to happen. In fact the 4th of July REALLY scares me. I don't think it would take much for that thing to light up like a roman candle.

However, There is no reason we can't go up the canyon. It's what -- 10 minutes from us? We did it last year a bunch and it was a blast.

Done, when do you want to do it? We have all of our stuff left, too. Those of you who live far away, I wish you lived closer to us so you could join us.

Speaking of fire[works], I think we're staying here for the 4th, anyone want to join us for fireworks in the street that night or do you all have plans?

Yeah who am I kidding the chocolate will by gone by tomorrow. Speaking of chocolate next time any of you are at Macey's they have these amazing truffles at the checkout called Utah Truffles. Sooooo Good!!!! BS understable about the ole fire thing. Let's plan the canyon for sure. Is your schedule pretty crazy because I probably can't count on my hubby unless you are there?

I said it in another post...and I'll say it again...

I am SO JEALOUS that I didn't get to go and have fun with you all. I bet you had an absolute blast. FOR SURE it should be done again next year!

5D - I am SO incredibly proud of you for hauling the load! That HAD to be terrifying. I get nervous just reading about it.

FYI - DH always has "smore" stuff on hand (and there's a fire pit in my backyard). So, the mountains when everyone has time (or the backyard in a pinch) would be a blast.

We could even try out some of the BBQ tips you guys keep mentioning elsewhere. Mmmmm - chicken and corn on the cob! (let me wipe up the drool on my keyboard).

Glad you guys had fun!

Yes, it was terrifying but BS was there every step of the way.

You are so funny, MM. Are you sure you want a bunch of hooligans in your back yard? I'm okay w/ either location.

I thought you knew, 5D, our place already IS the home of the hooligans!

And my motto is "the more the merrier!"

The only problem I can foresee is the limited amount of space we have in our backyard (and around the firepit). If there are oodles of you smore-lovin' fools out there, maybe the vast mountain-side is the better option.

Sounds fun either way.

I'm in! I was also bummed that we couldn't go with you so this would be a lot of fun to get together and hang out.

We are open on FHE anytime. So let's schedule it!

5fD - I don't think I would ever be brave enough to drive a motorhome up the canyon!!!!! I still get a panic feeling when I remember my grandpa riding his motorhome right next to the cliff!!!!! I admire your courage
