Clothes that were either way too big or way too small. Either way it makes the giver look bad. It would make me feel like they think I am that large or that I should be that small.

One year DH played racquetball with my BIL a couple of months before Mother's Day, and got all gung ho about it, buying himself a new racket. The week before Mother's Day, he went and bought one for me- I've never expressed any interest whatsoever in playing racquetball. I laughed my head off! Luckily for him, he got the message, and I seem to remember that he got me a real gift for Mother's Day. At first, though, he was fully intending that to be my gift. Men can be so funny. And no, I've never used it. It collects dust in the basement. And truth be told, his shoulder has kept him from ever playing again, either... so both rackets collect dust.

I think one of the worst gifts you could ever be given is like something you've always wanted but just off the mark. Like a brand new car, but not the one you would've picked and in the worst color ever. Or a cruise but to somewhere you never would've picked. Those are the worst. When someone puts a ton of money into something and didn't ask you what you thought and so you then feel like you can't say anything because of the money that went into it.
