Default touching base

hey Peeps,

I haven't forgot about this place, I have just been really busy.
My 7 yr old got hurt riding his dirt bike last week.

I just wanted to touch base with you all and let you know we're all doing fine now and I hope to catch up soon.

I am so sorry! That sounds so scary! I am glad to see that he is out of the hospital and back at home. Good luck with keeping him in bed! This summer my son (he's almost 7) had bone taken from his hip to put in his gumline near his front teeth. It wasn't as serious as what your son is going through. But, I can relate to not letting him do any physical activity. He wasn't allowed to do anything that could make him fall or bump him in the face or hip. At least school can keep him occupied part of the day. Good luck! It is hard to see your child go through pain. And good luck to your son.

I responded on ATM so I'll just quickly say on here: thanks for the update, mxmama. Is hubby able to offer you support locally or from long distance? I hope his family isn't adding any stress to your situation. We've missed seeing you on here and look forward to you coming back when things settle down. You and your family are in our prayers. God bless!

Thank you so much for the encouragement!

Thank heaven my husband was home when this happened. I think this is the first time he has been home when Jude has needed to go to the ER (MANY, many times) So I am very thankful for that! He finally got to see how hard it is to make that call. Jude (our 7 yr old) is so hard to read and gets angry when you treat him like he hurt. He HATES that sort of attention.

Our support team is nice. One of Jody's distant cousins who I like very much and have tried to get to know over the past couple years has been very thoughtful and even brought us dinner last night.

As far as his parents....Not a balloon , card, or a phone call for Jude.
But thats ok!

Plenty of us have showered him with that stuff. My family, Judes previous baby sitters, and some friends have really shown concern, and we really appreciate all if it.

Thanks again for the nice thoughts! It very uplifting!

So glad to hear your hubby was home! That makes all the difference when you're trying to take care of someone who's injured AND everything else you normally do.

Oh...my! How scary. You are all in my prayers as well. I, too, am really glad your husband was there to help out.

I totally chuckled when I read about how he first wanted to sell his bike, and then changed his mind...saying he thinks he should just wait to ride until he's a whole big whopping 7 1/2. Now, that's just an adorable kid you have!

Hopefully he (and you) won't be fearful when he gets "back on the horse" again!

Keep us posted!

Wow MX! You really have been busy. Sounds like a lot of good (huge) changes are in store! Can't wait to hear how it all works out. Keep us posted.

Once things are all in order with the move - maybe you can fill us in on the details. How exciting.

I'm also really glad to hear that your son is doing so well.
