It's basically an online journal. You can write what's going on in the world or whatever you want. I think they are kinda cool, but would require adding stuff every day, or it would get old and stale and no one would ever come look at it to see what's up.

Doesn't a BLOG defeat the purpose of not giving out personal information though? Explain to me how they're safe. I'm interested in doing one, but I'm more interested because my kids are gonna want one one day, I just know it. I need to be educated.

Well, you don't exactly blog as your true identity. You blog as 5' diva and you choose what you write about. Often times it's just about events etc. Not much different then a forum like this, other then it's just you doing all the writing. BTW, I don't really envision our children wanting to blog much.

mmm, I don't know. I've not really been too interested in starting one, but if you want one I can install you one and you can just run it off this domain. Different site, but same domain.

I love my blog. It is for my family in Finland to see what is going on. I have many friends who use one as well for the same thing. I guess I have never worried about being to secure. I have good antivirus software and I hope that I am monitoring my email well. I have had my email address for 3 years and have never had any issues... yet. So I don't know if it's very safe to blog if you don't have the necessary things to protect yourself but like big sissy said... You shouldn't give personal info. I try to talk about happenings and big news. My personal info is not visible. Only my name and email address.

Amber you should be fine then. Blogs aren't not safe, it's just what you said, just don't put too much personal information, and even using your children's names isn't a great idea. As you wouldn't want an online predator to find out about them and start looking. The less personal information you share, the better you will be.

It is addicting but also a great way to get away for short periods of time. Adult conversation can go a LONG way in making the day better.

She's not talking about a blog. She's talking about this forum, and that it is worth the extra time spend just to talk to some other Adults. And yes, you are slow ;D
