Thanks for the store suggestions, ER!

I have a while before my newest shoes become "old." But, I will definitely check out those places the next go-around!

It's nice to look forward to shoe shopping, rather than dread it.

Thanks, ML. It was fun slowly jogging w/ you. I appreciate your encouragement and patience. Let me take a break this week from running at 6:30 in the morning. My kids are out of town and I want to sleep in every morning that I can. I've been loving it so much.

I finally got the shoes!! I read through this whole thread and whoa! I'm up to 2.25 miles total now and earlier in this thread I was at 1.66 miles. Progress is a wonderful thing!

That is Sooooo awesome. I love hearing how you all are progressing.

And I'll be honest, it's a lot cooler then hearing that you lost XXlbs. because I know you're in better health, losing the weight may or may not be happening, but you can now run 2.25 miles.

All I can tell you is don't ask me to do that. Not without 2 wheels and a motor anyway.

Runamyrun, how's your running coming along. I'm guessing by your nice tan face that you've been out raking up miles!?

My tan face is mostly due to camping. I promise I used sunscreen, I just forget to reapply! Training for this race has been interesting. Usually I train more, run faster, and do speedwork. My dh and I decided to just do basic training. I ended up getting sick right after we went to Disneyland, so I went three weeks without running. It feels like I am at the beginning of my training again. Last week we were supposed to go 16, but we only went 14 because I felt like I shouldn't push it too much. We went really slow and it was really hard. Each run I am feeling stronger, so that makes me happy. We are getting there. I am extremely competitive with myself, and so it is hard to not compare my times with what I usually run. Oh, and the kindergarten teacher of my ds set me up with the mother of a boy in ds class. She is also training for a marathon and we have gone running together a couple of times. It was fun! How is your training going, Mamallama? Are you getting excited for the race? Are you nervous? If you have any questions or would like advice, let me know! Run Mamallama Run!

thanks BS! I was pretty impressed with me too. I'm not "running" every step as yet, but I'm getting there! I won't be "running" every step at the race on the 28th either, but I'll finish and that's the battle!!

Who cares if you walk some. You still ran 2.25 miles in X amount of time. So regardless you're in Better shape, and I'll be you feel a lot better too.

Now how about those shoes? Had a chance to run with them yet?

Shoe Run Report please.. That includes you too Mamallama!

Just wondering if all this shoe hype has panned out or are we just blowing smoke

The shoes seem good. It took me a bit to get used to them because they feel different on my toes and arches, but more cushion-y to my body as well. The 2.5 miles I did today felt good! I think the real test will come in RUNning as opposed to the very slow jog that I'm doing now. And also running on asphalt as opposed to my treadmill.

I'm starting to see that my treadmill is getting old really fast. I think I'll be too bored to do more than 3 miles on the treadmill. I'll have to find a way to run outside....or at least face my treadmill to a window. LOL

BS, the shoes are great, now that the "burning sensation" is gone. Thanks for asking!
