Okay, all you runnin' mama's out there. I just acquired an MP3 player from none other than our very own Bates (thank you very much!) and now I need a set of headphones. What have you guys found to be a good set and how much did they cost?

Interesting you would ask, my headphones happen to be on my computer desk right now! At first I just used the headphones that came with my Ipod, but they were always falling out of my ears. I found a pair at Walmart that were about $10, and I like them. They aren't cute, but they stay on my ears. There is a piece that hooks behind my ear, kind of like a pair of glasses. That way they stay in place. Oh, and they are Sony. If you would like, you could try mine to see if you would like them.

My bro (who owns & runs Mac Docs and they sell ipods, etc.) recommended Griffin Ear Thumps (Here's a link- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ). They are a lot of $$$ there, but you can find them other places, like Amazon.com for cheaper- Google search for ear thumps or tunebuds. I think my brother has them for between $12 and $15- I don't remember. They are the indisputed favorite at our house. Kriss' stopped working and he keeps trying to steal mine, but he can't have 'em!!! They are soft and fit into the ear. I'll show you mine if you like. They are very comfortable and small and the design helps to block outside noise really well, so you hear what you want to hear! I LOVE them. I've tried other styles, but these are my faves. They have 3 sizes included, too, so they are easy to customize.

You say your brother sells them for $12 to $15? BS has a pair like the ones your describing and I liked them so I'd be interested in them. Let me know. Thanks, RAR, if these don't work, I'll take a look at yours.

Well, you can call the store and ask them how much they are- Dave's wife just had a baby last week, and she's having some funky muscle-spasm problem, so I may not think to ask him about them when I talk to him next, but if you want results quickly, you can call the store. His name is Dave Hicks, but I'm sure anyone can help you with a price. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Good luck!

Now what 5D didn't mention is that these are for running, so staying in your ear is a priority at speed Walmart had some exactly like them for a nominal fee. The other problem with the ones I have is they do block out the noise, which is good if you aren't running on the side of the road. In this situation, I think being able to hear your surroundings is probably a good idea.

I think that's a good idea, BS, for me to try yours and possibly RAR's before deciding which ones I want to purchase.

BS, I agree with the need to hear other things while running.

Did you get some earphones yet? How about the mp3 player? Did you get it all figured out?

BS asked me to come up w/ a list of songs I want on there and I haven't done that yet so I haven't even had a need to get ear phones. I think I'll have more time when school's back in session.
