I'm sad to report, that I will have to sit this one out - and catch up with you guys the next time around.

My goal is to start the training still, so I won't be starting from scratch the next time a "goal race" is posted.

Thanks guys, and good luck to you all!

Absolutely! Did I tell you I've lost 10 pounds recently? I can't attribute it all to running, but the running isn't hurting! Come on BS, you can do it!

I'm having the same trouble that BW is with life, I just don't want to. I need to, but I just do not want to.

Thanks RAR! It does feel good. I'd put on some of that weight I lost a couple of years back and now I'm back to down to the weight I was when I left Tooele. But I have to keep reminding myself THIS weight is NOT my goal. My goals right now are a smaller size (rather than a specific weight since I'm working hard on building muscle too) and being able to RUN 3.1 miles. If I can get to those goals, then I really will have accomplished something. I just keep telling myself and want BS to hear too....No one ever said it would be easy, just that it's worth it. I'm worth it, my family is worth it, so I'm going for it.

Of course....if you'd asked me that a couple of days ago, I'd have been right there with BS whining about not wanting to. It is whining, isn't it, BS? No offense is meant by that...just recognition of a state of being. Due to some sleep problems, I haven't been feeling up to much lately, but today, I'm worth it so I'm doing my thing, praying for strength to do my thing and I winning.

I did a full "week 5" work out today and it still was hard, but I think with one more training session in week 5, I may be able to go to week 6 next week. My first "race" is 3 weeks away, so I won't be up to week 9 again, but I'll be closer than I was the last time. I just keep the goal in mind and keep working on the goal when my body lets me. I'm the little engine that could!

Good job Erudite! 10 lbs. is a terrific accomplishment as well as just feeling better for getting out there and trying. It is hard is so hard getting started but you just feel so much better for doing it.

I am amazed by the encouragment here. Congrats to all of you for getting out there. I cannot wait to hear how this goes and how everyone does.
