It says 1-3 t to bowel intolerance for children. In other words you can start them out at 1T, because that equals 3t and if they get diarreah, cut them back and build them up slowly.

Dia, I was looking up stuff about aloe vera juice, and it supposedly helps with acne, dry skin, candida, and many other things- this is fantastic! I need to: lose weight, detox (I think), clear my acne, moisturize my skin, and other things. I'm going to pick some up tomorrow. I really hope it jump-starts my metabolism, too. I used to have the fastest metabolism- I could really eat anything, I had tons of energy and was skinny~ then I had babies, and my body changed! Time to change back!! Thanks so much for all this information- I can't wait to see what happens!!

I do need to decide about timing my tonsillectomy. I think at this point, I should wait until January, since next year DH will also be having surgery, and our max. out of pocket spending will all fall in the same year- that will probably be more beneficial.

If you don't already weigh yourself to measure your progress, than don't start now. You will see and feel the benefits, probably long before it will show on the scale. Sounds like January is a good time to do it then. We have taken advantage of insurance detuctables twice now and it sure can help save a lot. The first time was after I had my third child, I needed hernia surgery. We only had to pay the 20% for the surgery. Then last year we got three tonsillectomies for the price of two. Dia

Oh, yes, everyone, please keep me updated on your aloe vera experience. I really want a ton of personal testimonies to back up what I already believe. Dia

I just noticed all you could find in the store were peanuts?? I didn't read the whole thread, but in case you haven't found the nuts yet. Did you look next to the chocolate chips in the baking section? There you should find walnuts, almonds, and pecans. Buy them whole or halved not chopped (just because its messy). Store the bags in the freezer. I keep about a cup of each on the counter next to the fruit bowl at all times. Its a very healthy way to snack through out the day. I think everyone in this house munches on them at one time or another. Good luck!

I've also noticed nuts in the produce section at macey's. They are by the potatoes and onions. They seem kind of exspensive though. They might be cheaper somewhere else.

This time of year especially, you can buy raw whole nuts in the produce section at WalMart, too- DH loves to eat almonds, and the little round ones... don't remember right now what they're called... but you can pick them up there and put them in a bowl with a nutcracker next to them- that's what we do. DH is really the only one who snacks on them, but I should start, too. I need the protein, I think. Can you freeze them raw? It might be good to stock up, since my DH loves them so much.

Teeny told me that she found out that GNC carries a 32 oz. bottle of aloe vera juice for $8 (that's only $4 more for a gallon). She said that she trusts the nutrition stores more than she trusts the grocery/discount centers. Just thought I'd throw that in for anyone who's picky about their products as well.

So, I went today and bought some aloe vera juice at GNC, I was about to take some, and then thought, "hmmm, I should probably call a midwife or someone who knows a lot about natural stuff, and ask them about the safety of it in pregnancy", so I did, and the midwife I talked to said to NOT take it while pregnant, that it could cause uterine contractions. So, needless to say I'm a little freaked about about the whole thing, so I'm thinking I'm going to take it back to GNC and see if they'll let me exchange it for some fiber. I'm not sure what to think about this, because there seems to be so many people with differing opinions about this. Confused......
