LnF, you really ought to check out that movie, it's really good if you enjoyed that book, because the focus is a little different in that it's not just about money. Though $$ is nice, that's far from my ultimate goal.

I would love to check out the movie. I got more out of the book than just money, I picked my own goals. The book helps you realize how you own thoughts affect the outcome of your personal life. It's amazing how negative thoughts, your self-concept of yourself, and doubt can alter the outcome of your life.

Hey I want to come! That video sounds inspiring.

BS - I was really impressed with your post. You were very honest about your life and how you feel at times. It's always great to see a "martian" express his thoughts and feelings. You have helped me to be a better person. Thanks!

Okay, I was mislead. I cannot watch it again. And the $5 didn't count toward the purchase either. So now we own it. I bought it off eBay with shipping for less then they were selling it (not counting shipping either).

So we now have a copy and we can plan a movie party now.

Are you kidding? I already have the ultimate goal. It was you. Other than that, I'm still working on it.

Yes you can. No question there.

ha, no problem. I'm not sure why this is so powerful to me, other then what's lead up to this has renewed my hope, and I'm really encouraged that those stumbling blocks will, one by one, be no more. I Will be free again. Anywho, thank you.

We are happy to open up our basement for the showing (it's where the T.V. is) but it's unfinished.

I think we should get someone with a big TV to host the party. Say someone that lives close to mamallama. Just south of her actually

Ok, wait...I'm late in getting to this conversation, but are you saying that the law of attraction is all about thinking the kind of thoughts that bring certain things to you? So, you think good thoughts about your life or other people and your life changes and other people become good and all that? I just wanted to understand the original posting. Thanks!

Their is a lot more to it then just thinking, but yes sort of. You can only control one person, and that person is you. So you can't directly control/change someone, but you can influence, but it's still up to them to take it.

It has a lot to do with your energy that you submit to the universe. You can submit positive energy, or negative. And the basic premis is that your thoughts from yesterday affect your today, so what you are living today is what you were thinking previously.

The laws of attraction will attract good or bad, it doesn't care, so it's up to you to affect it the way you want it. You do that via thoughts, and more so your thoughts that also have feelings attached to them. The more you think and feel about something the more it will be attracted to you -- for the good or bad!

I hope that makes sense.

Okay, I might have misunderstood your question but I'll attempt at answering it. BS is the one that posted the first post anyway, so he should answer you but I'll tell you what I think.

Thoughts turn into feelings, which turn into words, which turn into manifestations (things that happen). What you think is what you are. Your life and everything that has happened in it is a result of your thoughts. If you've thought positive things, positive things happen to you. If you think negative things, negative things happen to you. This is not to say there isn't adversity, it just means you are what you think.

For example, one thing that I've noticed that I've been saying is, "My life is crazy right now." Guess what is happening? My life is crazy. I'm attracting craziness simply because I'm saying it and if I'm saying it, you know I've thought it. Anyway, the point is that if I think my life is crazy and I'm saying my life is crazy, I'm attracting a crazy life. So now, I'm working on saying, "My life is organized and peaceful." If I think it and say it, it will show up in my life.

Hmmm...very interesting. My sister taught me this a couple of times in a couple of things over the last year and I can tell you it works. "My life is crazy" would be a good description of my life at the moment, but I never let myself think that. I think "my life is manageable" or "With God's help, I can handle this too" or something else that tells me that my life is doable and even peaceful in the crazy.

My sister taught me to quit thinking I was "poor" by not saying out loud"we don't have enough money for that". Our money hasn't changed, but my attitude toward it has. I had to realize that we were by no means "poor", but that my careful prioritization of my money meant that certain items couldn't be purchased as soon as I would like. When I changed my focus from "what I can't buy" to "what I am buying" and worked to be grateful for it (at the time it was the front yard retaining wall which I understand that Dia is going through right now), I lost the "poverty mentality" that I had, even though the money situation hasn't changed at all. Now that I see money differently, I can feel good about what I do spend my money on and know that I am saving my money toward other worthy goals...and saving money creates money, so in that sense, I guess my money situation has changed a tiny bit.

Is that what you're describing?

Erudite, can I say Amen sister? I have been working on my relationship with money and have found a big difference in the way I feel about others and money because of it. Hopefully I can be where you are soon. Thanks for sharing.

We would be glad to host "The Secret" movie party. We will be available after spring break to do this.

Excellent!

So if anyone wants to wait, they can, or we can also plan something sooner if you want to see it now. I can lend it to someone too, but It's got to be returned within a day, as I keep watching it due to missing some parts and wanting to recapture what they said.

You are on the right track, but it's a little different. You'll just need to see it.

Oddly enough, my R.E.T. Therapy actually touches quite a bit on this. It even calls it the law of attraction! Now if that isn't just weird (coincidence? I don't think so).
