This is greatadvice ---I read it today---This was writted by publisher Elbert Hubbard: "Whenever you go out-of-doors, draw the chin in, carry the crown of the head high, and fill the lungs to the utmost; drink in the sunshine; greet your friends with a smile, and put soul into every handclasp. Do not fear being misunderstood and do not waste a minute thinking about your enemies. Try to fix firmly in your mind what you would like to do; and then, without veering off direction, you will move straight to the goal. Keep your mind on the great and splendid things you would like to do, and then, as the days go gliding away, you will find yourself unconsciously seizing upon the opportunities that are required for the fulfillment of your desire, just as the coral insect takes from the running tide the element it needs. Picture in your mind the able, earnest, useful person you desire to be, and the thought you hold is hourly transforming you into that particular individual….Thought is supreme. Preserve a right mental attitude---the attitude of courage, frankness, and good cheer. To think rightly is to create. All things come through desire and every sincere prayer is answered. We become like that on which our hearts are fixed. Carry your chin in and the crown of your head high. We are gods in the chrysalis." I think I'll post this on my wall and read it every morning.

The past couple of weeks have been tough. One of those times of life where it feels like the bottom keeps falling out of things everywhere you turn. I am so grateful for the conversation that went on here, on this thread a few months back, as well as on many of the other threads on BnS. These conversations have truly prepared me for this STORM!! I am amazed at how many thoughts from these threads have come to my mind and have buoyed me up as one thing after another started blowing up in my face. I kept thinking, It's going to be okay, it's going to okay----think positive.....the more I think negative, the more I'll invite negative.....just pray and do your best with what's happening here and the Lord will help you through no matter what happens....keep thinking positive....have faith.... The thoughts you angels have shared on here, have truly been a pillar of strength for me to lean on and to help pull me through. It's still storming a bit over here, but I am fine....I'm amazed that I'm fine.... I am so deeply grateful for all of you for sharing your wonderfully inspiring thoughts. And I'm especially grateful for you 5D, BS, and AP for coming up with this whole idea, and your time, effort and $$ in putting this forum together. Honestly, I don't know how I could've made it through this storm in this positive way....it's incredible. Thank you! ![]() Last edited by Mamallama; 08-09-2007 at 02:19 AM.

ML - I am SO SORRY you're experiencing such a huge STORM!!! When it rains, it pours - as we all can attest. Pull out the old umbrella and golashes, and walk on over to my house if you need to chat. Seriously. Hopefully there will be an incredible rainbow sooner than later! I too am grateful for the conversations that go on here, and the different perspectives.

Oh, ML, my heart goes out to you at this time. Is the storm over yet or are you still in the middle of it? Thank you for your encouraging words as I am in the midst of my own storm as well. Probably not at the magnitude of yours but a storm all the same. Good luck!

| I have been having so many of the same feelings. I am sorry for those of you that find yourselvs in the midst of a storm. I too am there. And just when I see some blue sky and sun the wind seems to blow in some more clouds. I don't feel like I would have made it through my latest big storm without this board either. I have always loved a good rain storm. I love the way it leaves the earth looking and smelling clean and fresh. I love listening to the rain and the thunder. There is something calming and reassurring in each pitter-patter and each magnificant roll of thunder. Lately I have been able to look at each of my trials the same as I do a good rain storm. It might be a little inconvient at the time, but if I can take a moment to sit back and let Heavenly Father bless me with what I need to overcome the torments of the wind, I am able to enjoy the rain and the thunder and the beautiful aftermath it brings. | ...just a thought I had in connection to this "storm" idea. When we talk about a storm our first instinct is to pop the umbrella or to run for cover, right? But what if every single raindrop represented every single blessing that was available to us in the midst of the storm? So many times we are quick to only observe the affects of damage done by the loud and ferocious storm but are slow to take notice of the new growth and development that occurs because of the rain that was brought in. We'd be willing to withstand the wind and the thunder if we knew that the millions of rain drops were millions of blessings and we'd probably get pretty creative w/ how we received them, especially with the team concept, since we know that it's utterly impossible for one person to collect all the rain. I know that God will never abandon us and that He is always there for us and that it is up to us to recognize when and how He's there. I believe to pull out our umbrella or to run for cover denies us of the blessings that are available to us in the midst of adversity. Storms can come to us on land or at sea. If on land then at the very least we should stand out in the open field w/ our buckets to catch everything we possibly can and at the very most we should prepare our lands to receive the rain rather than standing by idly for what could've been. To prepare ourselves for rain is do everything we possibly can do and to receive rain is to allow the dew from heaven to fall freely so that change and growth can happen on the Lord's time table in the Lord's way. I'm interested to hear your thoughts if by sea.... The bottom line is that life is hard and sometimes there will even be a couple of tornadoes and hurricanes thrown in at the last second on top of what we already think we can't handle but, in the midst of it all are the answers to a new and better tomorrow for what seems impossible today. | Just remember, "What can I learn from this experience?" or "What can I gain from this experience?" Easier said than done, but it's something to consider. |

I agree. Sunday was a particularly hard day for me and I did feel like I was in the middle of a storm. It was easy to only notice the winds and the thunder and lightening but I kept catching myself and instead started asking what the rain was bringing. I don't know how to explain this very well, all I know is I felt better because I knew it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I'm not sure yet what kind of seeds are sprouting from all of this yet so I guess I'll have to wait till the "growing season" is over to see what comes to fruition.
