Default More than I can handle

Ever get yourself in a pickle where you bit off way more than you could chew? I have and I'm just about in tears. I agreed to help out w/ a project just as school was ending that would require my brain cells throughout the summer but have ended up being put in charge of it and I'm totally stressing out because it's way over my head...to put it mildly, I'm incompetent. Just needed to get this out of my head so I could focus on what I am totally underqualified to do. I know this sounds negative but this is the honest truth. I don't know how I'm gonna pull the rabbit out of the hat this time.

Boy, have I been there! When I was in a bind I called on my best friends to help bail me out. We rallied together and accomplished much in the few days before the event. Did it turn out as well as I'd hoped & as well as it could have if we'd had all the time & help we needed? No, but we did our best. If others weren't satisfied with our efforts, too bad. They can volunteer to do it next time!

What is it about schools & PTA? When you realistically say, "I could help with that project" they turn it into, "Sure, I'd be glad to be in charge of it. Bring it on. I've got nothing else to do right now."

Good luck!!! Take deep breaths, call for help, and jump in.

I'm sorry that your feeling overwhelmed 5D! Good advice NG. That's what I'd suggest as well.....don't try and do it alone.....call around and ask for help!
Can I help?

5D, you know I've got your back. I'm not likely qualified either, but feel free to call & I'll see what I can do to help.

Also, sometimes, it is okay to admit that we aren't going to be able to be Superwoman today and to let those in authority know if you can't accomplish what you planned on accomplishing. I HATE looking like a flake, but sometimes things just aren't going to happen.

Thanks, ML and BW for offering your help. I really wasn't trying to do it all by myself, its just that the cards fell that way and so I was left to carry the burden all by myself. Luckily, I was completely honest about feeling overwhelmed and under qualified and the right people found out about it and offered to help and it was taken care of in a jiffy. If it wasn't for these people I'd still be stressing out today. I think I learned a little bit more about what kind of a friend/person I want to be. People cease to amaze me!
