Default Bulk Storage Items

Can anyone please tell me where the best place to stock up on bulk items, like wheat, beans, and oatmeal. I know that Macey's is having their caselot sale starting this week and they usually have them, but is this the best, cheapest way? In the past I have bought the ready for storage sealed cans from the cannery, but I have moved up a level and am using more than I'm storing so I'm ready to buy in big bags to use within six months or so instead of storing for long periods of time.

Thanks, Dia

I really like going to Honeyville or to Lehi Roller Mills. I notice a difference w/ their products. It's a trip but I think worth it. Doesn't Macey's have the Honeyville stuff in sometimes???? I can't remember. Let me know what you find, I'm interested to know as well as I'm just about out of my stuff.

I know that Macey's carries big bags of these types of items during their caselot sale. I just don't know what brand it is. It starts today and I wanted to get some information before buying.

However, you are saying that even if it costs a little more that you like the Honeyville brand? That is good enough for me. I am always willing to fork out a few more pennies for convience and quality.

I like Honeyville Grain products, too. I wish they had one here in MA. I would buy things in 25 - 50 lb. bags, then split it up into 5 gal. buckets. If you don't need the entire bag, maybe someone else could go in halfsies with you. (Note: Potato flakes are VERY light. One bag filled 4 buckets! Now that's a lotta potata!) One 50 lb. bag of wheat fills 2 buckets.

Good luck!

Yeah thanks Natick. I'll have to check and make sure I have enough buckets.
