Live Like No One Else

We had the most amazing Stake Conference this weekend. The Saturday night adult session was all about finances. On speaker said something along the following lines: If you are willing to live now like no one else will, then later you will be able to live like no one else can.

I absolutely love this saying. I googled it and discovered the concept is from the author Dave Ramsey. The original quote is, “If you’ll live like no one else, later you can live like no one else.”

What are your thoughts on this concept?

I also really loved the Adult Session this year. I too loved that quote that was given. I feel you have to make it priority to save and pay off any debt.

Unfortunately my parents never caught on to worrying about their finances and have not saved hardly anything at all. My husbands parents are also in this situation. They were to worried about having things more than saving. Now all of my siblings will have more of a load to carry to help my parents as they age. I'm sure at some point they will have to live with one of us. But seeing this has made all of us make a higher priority to save for the future.

I have never heard this saying before, but love it. It's very motivational. I missed the adult session. I was so bummed because I really wanted to be there, but it didn't work out that way.

So, was the talk a lot about 'what' AND 'how' or just 'what'?

I don't really remember. I only remember what I learned from it, not what was actually said. Even looking at my notes all I wrote down was the above quote and the question, "What am I wililng to give up now, so that I can have what I want later?" and "Giving up what I want now, will give me the opportunity to get what I really want later".

Very interesting!! I think this is an eternal promise too...living now like the world does NOT, will enable you to live in the eternities like the world can not.
