Default Quicken 2007

I'm trying to reconcile my checking account using Quicken 2007. Can someone explain this process to me. My knowledge of Quicken is very limited, meaning, I know how to update and enter in transactions but that's about it. I also know very little about tracking my money - other than staying w/in my budget - so the whole reconciling thing is a foreign language to me. I feel computer illiterate enough as it is and to throw in reconciling using the computer is a little more than I can handle. I typed up the how to directions and I'm still kind of confused. I think I need a tutorial one on one. BS has very little patience w/ me when it comes to this so is there someone else that could explain this to me?????

Elder said he could come help you. If that is ok with BS. He said that he would worry that it would upset BS if someone came over to teach you something that he could.

He says, just call and set up a time.

Oh, and I just thought I would mention, that I have the same problem. Elder has tried to show me several times how it works. I just don't get it. I reconcile my part of the budget on paper and then he inputs it into the program so it is all in the same place.

We use Microsoft Money, but if it is similar, I could help you. I love using it!

Thanks, Dia and RAR. I need to talk to BS about a couple things in our account and then I'll go from there.

I have done approximately 6 hours of research using the interent and the help features on Quicken to find answers to my questions. Based off my research, it's a possibility that the problem doesn't lie in that I don't know the process, I think the problem lies in finding the wrong entry that set this cannon loose. (Hope that made sense) Let me get all of my ducks in a row and I'll get back to you.

Yep, you've got to reconcile at the beginning and then figure out what is missing or what is there that shouldn't be.

I just with some people's parents had spent time teaching this stuff to their kids. It's no wonder everyone is in debt.

I really think you should start with the savings account since that will be a lot easier.

Well, now that you've had a gander at how it's running, there's obviously something wrong w/ the program. Let's get this back on it's feet and then see where the user error's really are.

Turned out it was the classic 1D10T error. Sorry about that, now you can get it all squared away. Let me know if you have questions.
