Default I feel good when...

So Tuesday, I put on a new "Fall" shirt. I put on shoes. I did my make-up to match the outfit and FELT like I looked good. That feeling made for an AWESOME day where I got a ton done. I kept thinking, I need to do this more often. My clothes have really gone downhill and I don't feel like I look good most of the time, but I did on Tuesday! I think I need to get more clothes (and shoes!) that make me feel more "business-y" as opposed to SAHM-y. So I'm wondering for you...what are you doing when you feel on top of the world? Is it the outfit? Is it the attitude? Is it an accomplishment? I think we totally need MORE of IT in our lives and I'm looking for more ways to accomplish IT.

I'd have to say "all of the above." Sometimes I'm in a good mood & have lots of energy, so I wear more bold colors. Other times I try to dress nicely & put on make-up to boost my spirits when I'm feeling frumpy. Ironically, sometimes I look the worst when I'm feeling most confident, because I really don't care what others think of how I look (wearing pjs, sweats, no make-up, glasses, etc.). Don't know if that makes sense.

What really puts me in a great mood is finishing a tough work-out, or spending time at the piano. I'm still trying to work on the motivation to actually start the exercise/music/etc. so I can reap the rewards. Sorry...guess that doesn't answer your question.

I feel good when I get up on time and keep moving to accomplish things through the morning. By the time I showered, I was ready for the good looking outfit (which IS comfortable) as opposed to the frumpy outfit, which is also comfortable. So I'm finding that getting a move on first thing in the morning helps me throughout the day.

Hmmm....this is a good question. I don't feel good at particular moments in my life, but in certain states of mind and usually that is over the course of a few weeks. When I have done all that has been previously mentioned over a period of time I feel really good, but then the same applies when I don't do those things. After a few days (the decline is much faster than the climb) I feel sluggish.

I guess the short answer is I feel like I'm on top of the world when I'm in sync with "my" rhythm because when I'm in sync with mine I am inevitably in sync with others'. Does that make sense?

I am in the middle of discovering this for myself. I am realizing that it has more to do with self-care. One of my biggest problems is when I feel uncared for I feel bad. And then I tend to eat.

I'm realizing that when I feel uncared for, instead of eating, I can take just a few minutes to take care of myself, whether it is brush my teeth, pluck my eyebrows, rub some yummy smelling lotion into my hands, use a teeth whitening strip, etc. and I feel so much better than I would if I ate. It doesn't matter if it takes one minute or ten, it makes me feel good and I don't have to fight so hard the urge to eat.

Dia, I think you're right too. I hadn't pinned it down to that, but the cute outfit is the same as self care...that's what I'm doing for myself. lol I think I better go shower and get out of my bathrobe!
