Tonight I played a game of what would you do if...w/ my kids to test their integrity/honesty/obedience, etc., levels during FHE - some of you may have already done something like this. My kids loved it and so I thought I'd just share it w/ you all. You basically give them a point for every answer they get "right" and sometimes they got more than one point depending on their answer. I wanted to make the point that their first response is usually what they'll do if they were in the situation so they always got the point according to their very first answer. After the game I gave out a piece of candy for every point they had. It was their FHE treat as well as their reward/blessings for choosing the right. I was surprised at how honest my kids were even if it meant not getting a point. I think they also enjoyed applying principles in a fun and non-threatening way. Because these situations weren't really happening at the time, we were able to really talk about some possible consequences and how my kids' choices could affect someone else w/out any of the guilt. Anyway, here's the scenarios I used for my family. These are just things that happen every day in our home that I felt needed to be addressed. Mom says it’s time to go to Grandma’s house and for everyone to get in the car. You wanted to sit in the seat next to the sliding door but your brother got there first. What do you do? Dad says it’s time to mow the lawn and you’re in the middle of a PS2 game and you’re on the highest level you’ve ever been on. Do you listen to Dad or keep playing? You spent all day building an airplane out of Legos and one of your brothers broke it. How do you handle it so that the Spirit is still in the home? Your mom asks you to nicely place your clothes in your drawer. You were just about to walk out the door to go play with your friends. What do you do and how do you do it? You’ve just used the last of the toilet paper in the bathroom, there's no more spares in the bathroom and know that you’ll have to go down stairs to replace it. No one knows that you were the last to use the bathroom, do you go and get some more or do you leave it, leaving someone else to do the job? You’re hungry but don't want to make something to eat. You see the bag of chips in the pantry and know they would be tasty. You know that the rule is to not eat chips as a snack because they are for lunches but you really want to and no one is around and they would never know if you did. What do you do? You throw a piece of trash in the garbage from across the room and no one is around to see that you missed. Do you leave the trash on the floor or do you pick it up and throw it away? Mom asks you to go to your room to put your freshly cleaned clothes away and you’re in the middle of watching your favorite cartoon. You know that if you threw them in the dirty clothes hamper no one would see you do it. What do you do? Why? Dad doesn’t know who left a glob of toothpaste on the side of the sink after brushing their teeth but asks that that person go clean up their mess. This person is you. What will you do? Your brother isn’t very good at keeping his money put away and you see one of his dollar bills sitting on the middle of the floor. What do you do? Last edited by 5ft Diva; 04-30-2007 at 11:17 PM.

Wow, what a great idea, sometimes we don't have anything to do on FHE nights and this would be great. Thank you for sharing your idea. It worked for your family and I know it will work for mine, especially if their is candy involved. Thanks. Laundrygirl

Yeah, it's pretty interesting to hear what some of their answers are when we're role playing. As a parent I just sit there thinking, "Please don't really do that."
