My sister sent me this talk. I'd heard and raved over the talk when it was given and am excited to have the text version. It is filled with good ideas and ideals. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] If you have good talks that would benefit others. Here's a great place to share them! And then maybe we could start a new forum to discuss them individually, if that is wanted.

Thanks for this beautiful article Erudite. You know this is how I feel. It's so temple-like. I printed it out and it will become a great source for FHE's in the future as well as great conversation starters between me and hubby. I hope he feels the way I do about this stuff. I can only expand horizons, not limit them.

I found another good one for you. This one was a BYU devotional given one week after 9/11. They mention that, but the talk isn't focused on that exactly. I especially like this one for the discussion we had a couple of months back about the "birds and the bees" for teenagers. Pres. Bateman gives some excellent advice and thinking on that topic, but the whole thing is good for grounding us in the gospel. Enjoy! [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

| I just realized they didn't publish the art piece that Pres. Bateman discusses and you kinda need to see it. I think this link works...go to page 7 of this collection and it's called The House of the World. | I just got done reading this beautiful devotional by Sister Parkin. It brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of all the truly important things that I need to be more aware of. It's one of those talks that I know I need read every couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy it too! [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

I read it in BYU Today and all it said was that it was a devotional in February of 2007, so I don't know. I imagine she recycles talks though, so it wouldn't surprise me for elements of it to be repeated. It's a message worth repeating though!! See "Storms of Life" for a discussion on the ideas, if you want to discuss it (and I'd love to discuss it with you!!).

I was wondering because I went to that open house and it was fabulous. You could feel the love she had for everyone and how important it was to her that she get across the need for each of us to find our own personal ministry...and our callings have little to do w/ that personal ministry. I'd love to discuss this w/ you...I've commented on that other thread already so lead on...
