Default Hi! I'm....(10 years from now)

This is an exercise in a one of the FranklinCovey seminars that I thought would be fun to try here on BnS.

What you're supposed to do is introduce yourself 10 years from now. This one is particularly fun because the sky's the limit.

I know what you're talking about, Dia. For me, it's hard to let my imagination go wild and still feel responsible. I decided to give it a try, here's what I came up w/.....for now.

Hi, I'm DW. I'm 42 years old and still happily married - we will be married 23 years next month!! We live in a bigger home where we plan to stay w/ lots of land and a nice large basketball court and a small mx track for the boys to ride on. I finally have my dream kitchen and back yard where I host BBQ's and small get togethers w/ family and friends all of the time. I have also become a certified master gardener and have beautifully landscaped my own yard.

Our oldest is in college right now and we see him on the weekends when he comes home to see his brothers and friends. He has been home from his mission for less than a year. Our second oldest will be graduating this year and then leaving on a mission in the Fall. Our other children are all in school which allows me some time to myself during the day to do some volunteer work here in town. I love supporting my children in their various school activities even though it makes life around here unpredictable.

I run a small business part time out of my home as a life coach with a specialty in organization. I am really active and healthy. I am currently training for a triathlon (not my first one) that will take place in Hawaii that several of my friends and I are doing together. I have been planning this for years!!! I am currently enrolled in an institute class which I love. I'm having lots of fun taking ballroom classes w/ DH.

DH and I have been saving for years and will do our family dream trip which is to take all of our kids on a cruise this summer before DS #2 leaves on a mission and DS#1 decides it's time to start settling down. We are all very excited. Our children have helped DH and I organize several service projects that we do as a family from here in town to all around the world and we are having a ball. I have a great relationship w/ all of my kids and DH and look forward to the next 10 years.

Hi I’m LH. I have been in Brazil now for almost a year. My husband was called as mission president in the same area where he served over 20 years ago. I’m thankful for my Heavenly Father’s inspiration of paying off our little house in Tooele Utah. It made it possible to accept this call without concern or worry about finances. It was hard to leave a place we had become so comfortable in, but we know we have been very blessed and needed to serve the Lord wherever and however we could.

Our oldest is going to college at a commuter campus in Tooele and is house sitting with several of her classmates until we get back. It is very scarey to leave such young people looking over our house, but we know they will do there best. We will most likely sell soon after returning to move to our dream location in South-West Oregon.

Our oldest son will be leaving us soon on his mission. We often joke about him getting called back to the states, but can’t help but think he will be serving somewhere here in Brazil as well. The kids have picked up the language so quickly. Again inspiration from our Heavenly Father. Their father was inspired to talk to them from day one in Portuguese and although they never were considered bi-lingual until we moved here they had an understanding that I really struggle with. I’m getting better everyday and I know by the time we leave I too will be able to say I am bi-lingual.

Our youngest is almost 12 and is thriving in her new environment. Our 14 year old can’t go anywhere without being followed around by at least five young men. The people here are amazed at the brightness of her amazingly blue eyes that contrast with her dark brown hair. The Elders tease her mercilessly. She takes it all and stride and can’t wait until she is 16 and can go on her first date. My 16 year old is struggling. He was so excited to turn 16 and get his drivers license and of course date, but we moved here and the driver’s license was put on hold and for some reason he is not interested in dating anymore. I think the Brazilian’s scare him a little. The young women are very bold and many do not hold up to the standards we are use to in the states. He his such a good example to the other young men here in our area and has many friends.

I’m excited to finish this mission and hope to serve many more. I would love to travel, but often think that just traveling won’t be enough. I need to live and serve the people in the places I travel to. Heavenly Father willing, we will be able to for many years to come.

I just realized that if my oldest is house sitting she is going to have a long commute, because she is going to have a full ride dance scholarship to BYU.

Hmmmm...March 2018. I'm well and know how to take care of myself so that I stay that way. I finally got down to my long awaited size 10 and have maintained it for 5 years. I'm planning on going to Hawaii with Diva, though not to race. I'm the cheering section!

DH was just made a partner in his Engineering firm, so we are finally thinking about actually digging a hole for a pool in the backyard. We've always wanted one and never been able to afford it. We'll finish paying off the house before we start that process though.

Diva and I earned our certified master gardeners at the same time and helped each other with our yards. They're grown in now and truly enjoyable. I have also taken some drawing and oil painting courses and can finally call myself an artist. I don't know that everyone appreciates my work, but that doesn't matter much to me for I didn't create it for them.

I have a "keeps me busy, but I love to serve" church calling.

Our oldest son will be returning from his mission in Saudi Arabia in a few months. He's loved it there, though the work has been hard for missionaries who opened the country. Then he'll go back to school at MIT where he is working toward a Technology degree. He is pretty sure he can create transporters, so that we can just beam back and forth to friends' houses, and food replicators, so I can finally stop cooking!

Our oldest daughter just started BYU. She is working on a double major in paleontology and geology. She's recently been accepted to a NASA internship program and in a few years expects to be going to the moon as the Lunar Geologist.

Our second daughter is about to finish her junior year. And our youngest son is about to finish his freshman year. Life is good, though busier than ever!

Well... in 2018, my oldest son is just about to turn 23, with his nearest brother already 21. They both returned from missions with amazing stories of faith, love for the people, and joy at having served the Lord. Oldest plays basketball for BYU and second son rooms with him on campus and is majoring in computer science with a minor in music. Third son is 18 and preparing for his mission, as he will turn 19 in 3 months. He is surrounded by girls all the time, but is stalwart and strong in his plans to serve. Little daughter is 15 and will be 16 in three months. She is excited to date, drive and have a little more freedom, but tentative, also, as she understands the great responsibility to keep herself morally straight. Her testimony is an inspiration to everyone around her.

As for DH and me, we are 45 and 50 and loving life. We are living in a great home, with plenty of room for entertaining indoors or out, and he finally got his big tv. He hosts parties when BYU basketball games are on. We are financially secure, having paid off all our debts and our house. We pay for missions for 3 boys in our stake, as well as our own children. We have substantial investments, our 1 year food supply, and our home is totally self-sustaining in case of power failure. We generously donate to causes in our community, and love serving as Ward Missionaries in our Ward. I am writing a book, and DH sells stock photography online.

Physically, I'm in the best shape of my life. I love to exercise, we can afford to eat very healthy and I'm happily in my size 8 body again.

Hi, I am AR. I have an awesome life and I am so happy! Our son is a junior in high school and will turn 17 next month. He was so excited to get his drivers license last year, and of course to date! When our kids were younger, we used to tell them that they needed to be fast runners when they got older because the opposite sex would be chasing them! Good thing he enjoys running! He ran a marathon with us (Mom and Dad) last year, and this year our oldest daughter is going to join us! Unfortunately, they are faster than us! Our son is really interested in medicine. He would like to become a plastic surgeon to repair facial deformities.

As a family we have traveled several times to third world countries to help doctors repair cleft lips and palates. I had to take a couple of classes to be qualified to go, but it has been worth it. I think it means even more to the people there, when they realize that our son was born with the same deformities. I feel that our children are more grateful and generous because of these experiences.

Our oldest daughter is in 9th grade and is 14. She loves life. She is a happy girl with a contagious laugh. She is also a good listener to her friends and very smart. And she is beautiful!

Our second daughter is 12. She loves being in Young Womens. She is such an outgoing girl and easily makes friends. She has a funny sense of humor!

Our youngest daughter is 10. She is such a joy. It has been a lot of fun to have three girls look so much alike. I think they enjoy it too.

My husband still has his own business which is thriving. He has learned to take time off of his work and have fun.

We have enjoyed traveling as a family, and of course doing plenty of backpacking and camping. We usually run several marathons a year, unless we are traveling to another country for the cleft surgeries. We live in a house that is perfect for us! It is surrounded by trees and is large enough to have family and friends over. We have been blessed to pay it off, so now we are completely debt free!

Life is busy, but it is great!

10 years from now; what a wonderful thing to think about. I am 35 and I will be married for fifteen years in two months. I have two beautiful children. My oldest is 12 and I now get to deal with the joys that come along with a preteen.
My husband is out of school and residency and has been at his current job for five years. We are about half way to paying off school loans but now we have this wonderful mortgage that we get to pay off.
We are finally back on the west coast. We couldn't come back to Utah due to saturation levels there. But we are just a hop skip and a jump away in Idaho Falls. We are close enough to visit family when we want; but also far enough away to stay home when we want. We are in a beautiful home that is custom made to meet all of my needs/wants. Everything is beautifully organized! It isn't too big because I wanted to have to money to go on family vacations and cruises with my hubby. We caved in a got a dog for our kids. Now that we have a yard we just couldn't say no.
I have been back to school and got my Masters degree in family counseling. I work when I want to and I am always home when the kids get home from school. I also work at my husbands practice when I want. It is great to see him in his element. Plus, I always get my foot pain treated right away.
I am happy and healthy and have a few triathlons under my belt. I can't wait to see what the next 10 years will bring.

Hi to all. Well it's 2018. I am still living in Tooele, Utah because I love it here. I either live in my home that I lived in ten years ago with the exception of expanding the kitchen area and now have a walk in closet or I have moved into a larger home with a wonderful large kitchen with an island in the middle where my girls and I love to sit and have chats about life.

My oldest is 24 and after returning from his Mission in Germany has been working so hard on his business degree so he can take over the family business when my husband and I decide to retire. My next two younger boys are 22. They both served missions. One to Thailand, and the other in Chicago Illinois. Their experiences on their missions helped them grow and mature. I could hardly recognize them at the airport. They are now attending college and working very hard on their degrees. My youngest son will be coming home any time now from his mission to Brazil. I am so proud of all of my boys and serving the lord and spreading the gospel to all areas of the world.

My girls are fourteen and sixteen. They continue to be the best of friends. They are so busy in school. My oldest daughter has just had her first date. She is trying out again this year for the softball team. My younger daughter has excelled in her schooling. She has a deep love for learning. She is excited to be going to High School with her sister next year.

My husband and I opened a trailer business on Main Street five years ago. We sell utility, ATV, and snowmobile trailers. We are close to Steadman's in town which seems to attract more business for us. We also sell RV's on consignment. I am glad I went back to school to get a certificate in Accounting. It has helped with the business. It's so nice to see my husband so happy with his business.

We have property in Manti, where we built a small cabin. We love to spend most weekends here. We love to fish and ride four wheelers around the mountain. I love to hike and ride my mountain bike around. I am in such great physical shape. My husband also has found a love for hiking and has lost almost 40 pounds. I can't wait until I have grandchildren to bring up with me on the weekends. I am really looking forward to being a grandmother.

My husband and I are also looking forward to the time when we will serve a mission of our own. It is something we have talked about so many times. I wonder where it will be. I can't wait to find out.

Life is great!!!
