Hi Everyone!
I'm new here and thought I would introduce myself. I have been married to a wonderful person for 6 and a half years. We met when I was in highschool and he was a returned missionary. He was made my sunday school teacher in church! LOL He spoiled me a lot (like taking me to Disneyland on a date!) which definitely gave him big brownie points! We were engaged 2 weeks after my graduation and married 3 months after that! So, yes.... I was a child-bride. But, I think that we've done quite nicely! We have two beautiful children. A daughter who is 4 and a son that is almost 2.
I love to play! Anything that is fun I'm up for! I especially love doing things with family and friends, especially if it involves the outdoors like camping, swimming and any water sports. I don't really have any hobbies. If I had a hobby it would be cultivating relationships with the people I care about. I guess I'm too impatient with anything associated with real hobbying. I love discussing anything that has to do with health and politics. (I guess that's a weird combination ! ) I'm a massage therapist. I love giving massages because I love helping people feel better. My husband and I moved here to start an auto body business. It's been very..... interesting! Well, so far it's been quite stressful, so I guess that's what I mean by interesting. So, anyone need body work (car or person! LOL) then let me know!
I'm excited to get to know ya'all!

It's nice to get to know more about you. Disneyland huh! Wow, he's got my husband beat by a lllllooooonnnnnggggg shot!

Massage huh? That's way cool! I've thought it would be cool to learn but I'm afraid that I'd always be working on someone else and no one would work on me. That sounds a bit selfish.

You sound a lot like me, we'll have to get together and "play" as you call it. I'm all up for having fun. I love to hang out and just....hang out. Welcome to BodynSpirit. See ya 'round the boards!

Hey thanks 5Diva!
Yeah, I'm all about just "hanging out". I always say it's better to be bored at home hanging out with someone else than bored hanging out at home by myself. If you are interested in learning to give massages I would be more than happy to teach you. Then me and you could trade! I never get anyone to work on me either unless I'm in tons of pain and my husband takes mercy on me! But, he really doesn't like it. He says I always tell him he's doing it wrong! Maybe we could even do a RS enrichment thing to teach how to give a massage.

Hey, how do you make a picture post with your message? I put one in my profile, but it hasn't been popping up with my posts.

Hi Teeny!

You are such a fun person and we are so happy to have you in our neighborhood.

I took a class a loooong time ago that tought me about all the trigger points in the body, it was called Touch for Health which was based on ancient acupunture points. Instead of using needles, you message the pressure points. In your training to become a message therapist, did you learn about meridians and how to unblock the energy flow in the body? This is very fascinating to me. Also, do you use the Reiki method? I am interested in this technique.

To post a picture go to User CP on the menu above and then on the left side of your screen go to the thingy to add, change or whateve to the Avatar and then you can Browse and insert a pic. Sorry, I'm not so good at explaining this, I hope these instructions help!

Talk to you soon.

Yep, I took touch for health in my training. I never took Reiki though. I also learned a technique called Shiatsu and that deals with the pressure points that run along the body tied in with the energy pathways. My favorite thing to do is just work with the points of the body myself. When I'm working on people usually it's really easy for me to know which points to push and what needs worked on. I guess I just let my intuition guide me. That's really how I got into massage in the first place. My Mom has always gotten really bad migraines and when I was a teen I started working on her to help her with them. She always said that I had a gift and she encouraged me to go into massage therapy.

Yey! I'm glad you got it to work!

Yes, I would say that you truly do have a gift of massage and intuition to be able to read ones body so well to know what to work on for them. That is totally awesome. I think a RS activity on massage would be terrific!

For those of you who are confused, Teeny is referring to a group of women from our church who get together to learn things from each other - anyone can attend. Teeny is referring to teaching us massage at one of these classes.

I think that would be fabulous! I would LOVE to learn. What got you into learning massage in the first place?

My Mom has always had a ton of migraines, so when I was a teenager she would ask me to rub her neck and back. I started realizing that I was really quite good at it, and my Mom said that she thought that I had a gift and so she encouraged me to go into it. I've loved it ever since!

Uhm, yes, I think it would be WONDERFUL for you to teach my 5ft Diva how to give a good massage, as I'm soooo sore right now I'd take anything.

The motorcycle stuff is tough.

Anyway, Teeny, welcome to BnS, it's great to have you here, and even better that you've volunteered to make my like better

So, this thread begs the question.... How much for a massage? You actually don't have to tell, but I'm seriously wanting/needing one.

Also, where do you do the massages at? Home?

Needless to say, it's very cool.

I'm actually getting ready to send some flyers around the neighborhood because I'd like to start doing it again. And, yes, it will be in my home. For a one hour massage I charge $25 for the first time (so you can make sure you like it before you pay full price, seeing as though all massage therapists are different) and then after that, I charge $40 for an hour. Let me know if you'd like a massage. I assume you have our number?

Wow, that's not a bad price at all. The company I work for ran a spa for a while in California, and their prices were a lot more then that.

Well.... because I do it in my home, that's why I lower the price. I figure it's not in that professional of a setting, so that should make the price match. Let the can of worms open!!!!!!! I'm ready. Actually, I could really use the business right now. I've been thinking of getting a part time job, and actually applied for one (waiting to hear back on it) but I would MUCH rather do massage! So, tell everyone!

I am so glad you are joining in on this forum. It is great to learn more about you. Your family picture looks awesome. What a cute family you have. I hope you have enjoyed your move here back to Utah. We definitely need to get together more often and hang out. You are such a fun person. I know a lot of people who would be intersted in a massage. That is so cool you do that.

If the picture I took of your daughter is anything like you, then I think anyone would want to hang out with you. She's such a cute little girl.

She tells me, Take my picture. How could I refuse? Besides, I'm a real sucker for little girls, being as I have... NONE!

Why yes she is. That was at the Ward Christmas party this last year.

If you go to the photogallery you can get the bigger one.
