I thought we should start a place for our discussion of this assignment. I have to say, I haven't consciously done the 24 hour challenge, but I feel prepared to do it, because many of the other ideas of the book really have made me rethink my thinking, so I recommend moving forward in the book. It will help you with the 24 hour challenge when you do officially attempt it. I also think that his discussion on prayer in this chapter is vital to the 24 hour challenge. I know I've adjusted my prayers a lot over the last few months so that I am now asking to see the good first and thus avoid the criticism altogether. As we each take on the challenge, I suggest making a strategy (as he suggests at the top of page 16) of something to do when we catch ourselves in the criticism. That's really helped me too. So, I'm starting mine now. I'll report on it tomorrow.

Well, like I said, I feel like I may have cheated a little. I fasted the day I did the 24 hour challenge - I knew I wouldn't be able to do it on my own. I have found I am sensitive to criticism now. It's smoothed out a lot of rough edges. WARNING: Do not stop criticizing unless you want to change. Growth and maturity are inevitable. It will cause you to look at every person and every situaltion differently for the rest of your life. You will most likely find yourself holding your tounge and opening up your mind and your heart. Results may vary. Last edited by 5ft Diva; 02-26-2007 at 10:01 AM.

Well, I had the stomach flu all day yesterday, so I stayed home from church and didn't think about this challenge in the slightest. We did go to a family dance on Saturday night and there was someone there who was wearing a shirt that I thought "hmmm I don't think I'll buy that type of shirt. If it makes her look fat, it'd look awful on me." Is that a criticism? Other than that, I don't think I criticized anyone or anything, so it's possible I've now done this assignment, but like I said, I've been working on it over a couple of months now. Where's the rest of our group?
