We have ants all over our yard. Does anyone else have this problem? Can we use old sod that is laying in a pile? Can we pull it apart and lay it?

Two years ago we had a really bad ant problem They were fine out in the yard, but the little buggers kept getting into my house. We set up some of those little traps that look like igloos, inside and out and haven't had a problem since. I don't know about the sod. I have heard grass is quite resilient, but I really don't know how much. Dia

How long has the sod been sitting in the pile? If it sits too long the pieces inside the pile will be burned or dead for lack of water. If it's still greenish you can go ahead with it. When we planted ours it had been sitting in a pile for about three days. After we laid it down patches died and our front lawn looked like a checkerboard. Our sod is still not healthy (we think that has more to do with what is under it) but it's pretty well greenish. My mom always swore by Grants ants stakes and those have worked well for us. I have even set them around in my house.

Well it's been sitting there for a while. Longer than a year I know. It was from the previous owner. Guess that means I should toss it??? I will have to look for those stakes. Thanks everyone!
