I would like to see some Christmas pics.

Kids with Santa, trees, wreaths, what ever!

Just please don't let me hog this thread!

Here is some pine cone garland I made.
(I'm trying a new way to post photos, so bare with me if it doesn't work)

Thanks so much!

I forgot before in the other thread to mention you can just roll the cones in glue then roll them in glitter.
Most of the ones in these garlands are done that way.
Spray paint and glue have different effects, but they are all still beautiful when complete.

Thanks!

All the pine cones I can get my hands on are about the size if my fist.

OH what I would do for some really big pine cones.

I have seen some here and there that are gigantic! I bet the one from red wood forest someone mentioned was huge!

I may have to search around for some big ones. My imagination is running wild.

Anyone notice the 1/2 eaten gingerbread men?

Or the poor one who got his ear bitten off?

Now that you mention it, yes. Everything looks great. You are very creative, mx. I can see why you'd need to collect A LOT of pine cones. Do you just buy garland from the store and then use wire to connect the pine cones and garland together? Thanks for sharing these pictures. I would love driving by your house every day just to see your santa tractor. It's so festive. If your husband ever came home and wondered what you were doing all day, tell him he needs to get his eyes checked.

He never has asked, but I will remember that if it ever happens! LOL

funny!

I do buy the garland, but wire isn't necessary. I used to work with it but since the garland has wired branches, I use one or two of them to twine the cone in.

The almost nestle themselves, once you mess with them for a while you will feel how easily they snug right into place.

Hot gluing two or three cones together at the base makes it a little nicer looking when you use the branches, but its not necessary.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE the garland! You are very talented! Pine cones are one of my most favorite things in this world. Big ones, little ones, skinny ones, long ones, chunky monkeys - LOVE 'EM ALL. But, I've never even dared to try and "enhance" them. How gorgeous!

Yeah, you make it sound so easy...but I'm guessing I would have two left hands trying to make my own. Maybe next Christmas!

Anyone can do it... Even the ones that are "messed up" are beautiful! They are a full proof design!
God knew exactly what he was doing when he created the pine cone

Im still waiting for some more pictures ladies.

I know I'm not the only one with a digital camera

Okay, I'll try to post a pic of my new tree- I'm not totally satisfied with it, it's still a work in progress... but it's the new thing we did this year.

Hmmm... I'm not sure why they are so tiny- it wouldn't let me load them any bigger than this. Oh well... my two youngest are enjoying our first really big snowfall of the season in the last three- they have built snowmen, igloos, castles, thrones, you name it. Fun stuff!

My kids LOVE the snow. I think they'd have a hard time not having it during the winter. Great tree, BW. It looks great. Did you say in another thread that you wanted one in the family room and the living room? How's that working out? I've always thought that if I had a big enough house I'd have a couple of trees up, but I don't know if it would drive me crazy.

Yes, we have a green tree in the family room with all the miscellaneous homemade ornaments, etc.- it's the kids' tree and they can re-arrange things anytime and I don't care. As long as it all stays on the tree, anyway! I think all the candy canes have been eaten, but otherwise it's kind of cute. They aren't allowed to touch the tree in the front room. It's working out fine- I like having both trees.

You can put them in the photogallery, and then just put a link to them.
