Get together

So... let's plan a BnS friends get-together. Let's hear some suggestions and see what works out! I am free on July 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15th... and some others. Anytime, any place. I need some social time and would LOVE to visit with you ladies...

I can do any of those dates. I like the idea of getting together without kids, but if we can't swing that, I vote going to the park for a picnic or something like that. (It's probably too hot for the park.)

Anyway, there's my two cents. Thanks for getting the ball rolling, BW. Let's get this on the calendar before our summer runs away from us.

Sure thing, I'm fine with or without kids. If we do without, I'd be happy to host a movie night at my house! Mine can all be banished to the upstairs/outside. Or even better, a game night... that would be fun...

I'm not available on July 5th. The 8th & 12th are probably the best days for me. I'd prefer getting together during the day w/kids...my nights are get-projects-done-with-DH time. Liberty Park in SLC has a fun play area with fountains to keep kids cool. Is there a park like that in Tooele?

I'm not available on the 9th. The 8th and the 12th are good for me, too - like NG said. I like the idea of the water fountain park. My kids love those. We don't have any in Tooele that I'm aware of.

I'm good with a girls' night, too. Whatever works best for y'all. Looking forward to it.

Sounds fun to me! I had no idea Liberty Park had a place like that! Let's do it!! I vote we go on the 8th, since that seems to work for everyone. Where do we park... at the park, NG? (No, I'm sure there isn't anything like that in Tooele.)

I'd like to do a ladies only night, too. I'm happy to host. NG, maybe you will need a break in a few weeks...

OK, let's plan on July 8th at Liberty Park in SLC (900 S & 500 E). What time do you want to meet? The earlier, the cooler!

The water area & playgroud are on the northwest side of the park next to the tennis courts. Enter from 900 south (or maybe it's 800 S, can't remember) and turn right. You can either park right near the entrance, or follow it around to the west side and park near the tennis courts. There is also an area where the kids can wade a little closer to the middle of the park.

Sounds like fun-- I recently had a friend from Jr. High find me on facebook and she said "let's get together" because she lives in Tooele, too. I don't want to get together with her, but that's beside the point. The point is, I realized I don't have time to get together with casual barely-acquaintances if I can't make time for my real friends!! So I'm glad to get together with some of my real friends!! Especially NG, whom I haven't seen since you moved back!!

I'm so sad Dia's on bedrest (or more like house-rest) and won't get to come with us. We'll have to do another get-together after her baby comes.

BW -- The friend found me on FB, too. I'm glad you have your priorities straight w/ friends! 8-) She asked about you & Amy N. I noticed she'd also connected with other high school friends. I have mixed feelings about re-opening that chapter.

Ah, you ladies are so sweet. I have a hard time getting to social events, "house arrest" or not, but will have to make a special effort to get myself to the next one.

Just throwing this out there - it seems that we've always planned our get togethers in the summer. Why don't we just plan on having two each year? One in the summer w/ kids and one in the school year w/o them. What say you all?

I'm for a school time one! I'm wishy-washy about schedule additions in the summer time, but my time is my own in the school time. I think I'll be able to make the one on the 8th...unless we decide to head out of town that day.

I'm bringing all three of mine (8, 11, 13). My teenager still has fun at parks and in the fountains. I think I'll have them bring their scooters and skateboard, too.

Oh I'm bringing my 3 youngers, including the 13-yo. Oldest son will be gone on a camp, but everyone else is coming. NG, my 2nd son said he's excited to see your son by the same name. He said, "Oh, him? He's cool!" Diva, are you only bringing the little ones? MM- DON'T answer your phone... it seems like every time you and I get close to a get-together something happens... I really hope you come. I love those little girlies. (and you, too!) I'm really excited to see everyone!!
