Default Grey Hair

I just pulled out my first grey hair. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I didn't pull it because it was grey, but because it was short and wirey and sticking straight out from the front of my head, where my bangs would be if I had bangs.

Welcome to the gray hair club. Sorry to say it isn't the most fun club to be a member of.

No, no it's not. I've had gray hair for years now, and I don't exactly love it either...

I find little gray rascals sporadically as well.

Actually, I never notice them, myself...but my boss is always sure to point them out (and pull them out).

I still haven't decided if I'm going to go to the effort of covering mine. And I too still pull some of the hairs when they get in my way. I'm not "grey" by any means, but have more now than I can comfortably pull. Is it a badge of honor and maturity? or a sign of just being old?

My mom has dark hair. When she first started to go grey, she would only have the spots colored right around her face. They seemed to cluster there in the beginning. As her grey hairs increased in numbers, she started having her hair colored, but only in strips, so that some of the grey would still show through. I think it is beautiful. She is growing old very gracefully.

I have lighter hair, so mine don't show up much. I probably have a lot more and I just don't know it. However, I think I'll do mine like my mom. When they do start showing up more and more, I won't color all of them, but let some show through as a "badge of honor and maturity".

So E, I guess the answer to your question is, it depends on how you look at it.

So, not that any of you asked for a hairstylist opinion.... but I'm going to give it any way. I say if you want to hide grey, do highlights. All over color is a lot of maintenance, and the blonde highlights will camoflauge them.

Woohoo! I'm glad to hear that I am doing it right! I mentioned this before, but I started getting a few gray hairs when I was 18. Gradually I found more and more around my face. Now they are throughout my whole head (and I'm not quite 30 yet!). I have MPS give me highlights to cover it up, because I didn't want to worry about the maintenance of dying all of my hair.
