How To: Add a picture from the photogallery to your post

Now that you know how to upload a picture to the photogallery, we need to discuss how to get them from the Gallery to a thread, so you can talk about them or whatever.

Now typically when I do this, I like to have 2 Internet browsers open so I can switch back and forth easier if I have more then one picture that I want to add to a post. One open on the the post I'm making and one with the photogallery open.

Now this process is actually pretty easy since the photogallery actually does most of the work for you.

In your photogallery browser window (if you have 2 browsers open) find the picture that you uploaded and want to add to the post. Once you are there, if you scroll to the very bottom you will see a line that has a URL (basically an Internet Address) with

before it and

[/img]

at the end of it.

How all you have to do is copy and past that link into your post like this:



If you don't want to post the picture but just a link to the picture, choose the line under the one in red.

Add what you want to say and click submit.

If you want to add more then one picture, like I've done here, simply repeat this process.

Now a couple of notes. If you want to post a larger picture (the original will have to be larger of course, as it can only go as large as the picture you uploaded), or you want a smaller picture you need to change the "medium" part of the picture link to either "small" or "large" depending on what direction you want to go. Medium is the default, so it will always be medium, unless you change it. You will see in the picture just above this text, I have change it to "large" to show the larger version.

Big Sissy, can we still post pictures on a thread or in our blogs? I've been trying and been unsuccesful. Then I came her to figure out what I might be doing wrong and noticed the pictures you posted here before, are no longer here. No big deal if we can't, just thought it would be fun to give a little more explanation on the pictures I posted from the Nutcracker.

I'm trying to put the Nutcracker pictues I uploaded today on my blog. I just tried one that I called Nutcracker Pictures Trial. I cut and pasted the line you showed on this thread and it still doesn't show. There is just a red x in a small rectangle in a rectangle and no picture.

Oh, I got it. I had to cut out the [img], thingies out. I cut and pasted just the line inbetween the two [img]'s. Is that right? Did you say that and I missed it somehow?

Now, it is only showing one picture. You can see what it is doing by going to my blog titled Nutcracker Pictures Clara and Her Prince. Really it isn't a problem. I just thought I would share them in my blog, because I wasn't sure if everyone who would want to see them would find them in photogallery.

I fixed it for you and deleted all your test ones.

I'm not sure how you did it, but you have extra [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in there.

All you do is copy the link and paste it into your blog post exactly as it is and it should work. I verified that the links in the photogallery are correct, and they are.

Ahh, it's always fun learning this newfangled Internet stuff isn't it

Thanks Big Sissy. I'll give it another try later today. I love learning things like this, but sometimes it seems to take me forever. Then I don't use it for a while and loose it.
