Default Learned Something

Yesterday I learned: Sometimes you post on Facebook and sometimes you just have to post here. You can post everything on BnS, but you can't post everything on Facebook. Now, if I can just remember that, and always come here for the most important things, first.

I feel safe here. I'm not feeling so safe on Facebook. I have too many "friends" that don't really know me, so they mis-read a lot of the things I write.

I guess maybe I just have to learn what I can post and what I can't. Although seemingly very innocent updates, turn into battle scenes.

I can't see giving it up completely, because I use it for so many good things. I somehow just need to remove myself from the drama. One of the reasons I tend to avoid social situations is because I tend to say so many stupid things and I'm afraid of creating drama and now I'm doing that on Facebook. Usually if I have to type it out and edit it, I can prevent myself from saying something really stupid, but Facebook makes it too easy to post something, so sometimes this process is so short it is un-affective.

Anyway, I'm interested in your thoughts.

I know what you mean! You really have to be careful what you post on FB...and realize that what you post as a comment on someone else's page can be seen by their friends, too, and not just yours. I see FB as just a fun place. If something is even remotely personal, I'll send a private mssg or email. FB is fun, but not safe for sensitive or personal things.

Agreed! FB is a great place to go for quick information...reference. Places like this, if I may say, wonderful website are great to work through problems, struggles, new ideas, whatever. There is something to be said for those who have taken the time to get to know us and understand where we're coming from.

I know what you mean, Dia! I really like FB, but there are some things that just don't work there. I'm relatively new to it and I get sucked in to some of the useless stuff. I actually thought it was more "bloggish" and less speed-socializing and I was a little disappointed by the vastness of it all. Some things about the vastness are amazing, mainly the long-lost connections you can make.

Anyway, I do think this is the better place for more personal items, and for really being able to talk about things and bounce ideas off each other. Makes me grateful.
