I've discovered a few things about the blog that I need to let those that use it know about.

1) There isn't currently a way to mark a blog as private -- so if you have private blog entries they are now public.

This isn't good -- I know, so to fix this, until a new version is released that will allow private entries you should edit those entries that are supposed to be private, copy the title and contents of the blog to word or something, then delete the entry.

Once that's done, you can re-create it, but don't publish it. You will actually just leave it as a draft, and save it as a draft.

Please let me know if that makes sense.

2) There are currently no "global" categories, which is pretty weak IMOP, and for some reason the categories from the old blog didn't transfer over so if you want categories, you'll have to create them and then edit your blogs to assign the categories to them.

To create categories:

Go to the blog, in the section titled "options" (it's on the left) click the link that says "Blog Control Panel"

In the blog control panel click the link that says "Blog Categories" and this will allow you to create categories.

Once you have created categories you'll have to edit all of your blogs to assign them the categories you want.

I had really hoped this blog software would be better than it is, but so far I'm not very impressed.

The up-side is that it's actively being developed and will get better with time.

Big Sissy, I just categorized my blogs and whenever I click on the "Women's Conference 2008" category there are no entries, when there should be two. It says something about uncategorized items. Do you know how I can fix this?

Ok, that's odd.

The only thing I can think of is to try deleting it and re-adding it (the category that is)

If you want to send me your password in a PM, I can take a closer look, if you can't get it to work still.

Ok, this is really weird. I have been messing around with it for the last little while. I have changed the name of the category and the name of the entry. It will not let me name the Category "Women's Conference". I can put any other series of letters or words and it works, but as soon as I put "Women's Conference" in the name of the category, it won't show the entries. What is up with that?

It's the ' . It won't let me use the apostrophe. Is that weird? Any way. I don't really need it for it to make sense, but I thought you might like to know.

If you are referring to the latest Dia blog, that is because she has the option set to not allow posting comments on that particular blog. So if she wants comments, she'll have to turn them on.

Diva posted on it, but that's only because she is a moderator and as such apparently the rules don't apply to her

If you are talking about a different one, please let me know and I'll check into it, but all the others should be "comment-able"

It's not your fault. Since the software didn't stop you -- you wouldn't have any other way of knowing.
