Default Anniversaries

Every year for our anniversary DH and I plan a night away. Up until just last year we always got a really good rate on a really good room, because my mom worked at a hotel in the Salt Lake Valley. Last year we really lucked out and got a great deal on a room at the Anniversary Inn. This year we have no idea what direction to head.

We had sort of planned a major couple vacation for our ten year celebration, but with a nursing baby and big family vacation this summer, we have decided to put it off a little while. We are planning on a ocean side vacation with the family in August and thanks to my mother and sister will have the opportunity to spend a couple days with just the two of us. However, we still wanted to uphold our yearly tradition with a night away in June.

What I need from you wonderful ladies, is any suggestions of a nice room in the Salt Lake Area that we could get for under $100. In the past we have enjoyed having access to a huge jetted tub right in the room and we both agree this is a must. (It is the faster way to get out of mommy mode for me.) Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Dia

You might not like this, but we recently stayed in the best western here in Tooele and it was under $100 and had a jetted tub (big too). It was a lot of fun and we didn't have to go far either.

Anyway for what it's worth that worked for us.

Did you stay in a hot tub suite or a honeymoon suite. There are two pictures of rooms with "tubs" in the suites and one looks really nice the other not so nice, but neither one of them are labeled.

Okey here's the deal on Best Western. I know cuq I worked there. Anyway the Honeymoon suite is the house next to the Best Western it is really nice! But is more expensive. Yes the suite is not as nice but to me it is alot like the Hotel rooms just a little bigger. When I worked there and if there wasn't anyone staying in the rooms we would show quest the room. So if you'd like ask them to see both rooms. This may help to make your choice. If it were me I like the Phenton place (this is what they call the honeymoon suite).

Thanks for the insight SMED. Here is a link to some pictures. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I really like the looks of picture seven. Picture 13 looks like there is a tub big enough for one stuck over in the corner and that just wouldn't do. Is the big mauve room in picture seven the "honeymoon suite" or is it a "hot tub suite"?

We did not stay at the house next door. The room we were in was in the hotel on the 2nd floor, and the hot tub is plenty big.

I didn't see a picture of it on there site.

So BS how did you book the room? How did you tell them what room you wanted? And you said it was under $100 how much under $100 was it?

By the way this is exactly what we are looking for. I forgot to mention that earlier. We want something close and not to expensive, so if this works it will be great.

Thanks again,

Dia

We got a really good rate because we had a friend that worked there at the time that could give us her rate. I don't know how much it costs if you pay for it yourself. I say if it's $20 over your budget still go for it. Good luck!

Dia Minha,
Hey I emailed you but I'm not so sure you recieved it so I'm posting the same message. If you get this twice sorry but i wanted to make sure you get it. Piture 7 is a the honeymoon suite that's located inside the hotel. Picture 13 is a picture of one of the Phenton Honeymoon suites ( this is located in the house next to the hotel.) Also picture 10 and 11 are pictures of the other room in the phenton House (this is the bigger and more expensive of the two rooms) the suites inside of the hotel are less of the three. If it were up to me I would either go with picture 7 (THe honeymoon suite thats inside the hotel) or I would get the biggest room that's at the phenton house. If you have any questions let me know.

Smed, thanks so much. This information is exactly what I needed. I'm going to get hubby to book us a room.

Thanks everyone. I look forward to this every year and until I know it's booked and we are confirmed to go, I have a hard time believing it will really happen. When I have something like this to look forward to, I seem to get so much more done with my days.
