Default Face wash

Okay so I have been wanting to ask this for a while but hadn't gotten around to it. What kind of face wash do you use? What is your face washing routine? I have found that any cleansers I use tend to either dry me out or oil me up.

As most of you know my husband is from Finland. When I lived there I noticed many people didn't use cleansers. Only water. I was really surprised. I had always used nuetrogena glycerin bar when I was a teenager and that worked to clear zits but it still dried me out. Then I used clean and clear exfoliating cream up until I got married. That made me oily.

Let me just tell you that many Finnish women have great skin. There climate is moist so I guess that helps. I wondered if the water thing had any truth to it. So I tried it and I did break out a bit at first just like when you change from any cleanser to a new one. After a while I noticed that my skin was more soft and clean. Even though I did have some smaller blemishes and you could see that some of my nose had clogged pores but overall it was working. And I saved money.

Now I still do the water thing but I do use Mary Kay microdermabrasion for exfoliation every 2 or 3 days (love this stuff!) and sometimes a Mary Kay moisturizer if I need it (like during these cold days!).

Sometimes I wonder if I need something to actually clean my face.. What do you all think? And if so, what should I use?

My bedtime routine is this: cleanser, toner, moisturizer. I use all over the counter stuff accept for moisturizer, because my skin is so sensitive to it.

When I wake up in the morning it's just cleanser and moisturizer.

That's pretty vague but I think it answers your question.

OKay, don't tell anyone and I wish I could say this annonymosly (sorry I don't know how to spell). Here goes! I use hemoriod pads. The first ingredient is witch hazel so it isn't very medicated. But I figure that it is better than nothing which is what I usually do. This is just fast and easy. It comes with it's own pads and it doesn't dry out my face. And it doesn't hurt my eyes when I clean around them. OKay, I have really exposed myself. Maybe this will make someones day with a good laugh.

I never would've thought about that in a thousand years. It must work for you since you do it though. I think it's interesting to hear other people's cleaning routines.

Okay now I hate to get into detail but do you use the pads because they shrink hemmoroids? I have heard before that they are good to use if you have larger pores to shrink them up. I have heard of worse things people do. One is using pee for acne and athlete's foot....enough said

I LOVE Mary Kay. I use her cleanser and moisturizer every morning and night, but it's stinking expensive. My sister-in-law sells it so she gives it to me at a pretty big discount. If I could afford it I would also use the night and day solution. It is awesome stuff! I break out very easily and using this stuff makes it happen less often and not as bad if I use anything else. I have also heard the cleansing just with water myth, but don't know if I buy it and have never been brave enough to try it. Plus, when you wear make-up, like I do, I would think that you would have to use a cleanser to get it off which is another reason I have never tried the water thing. Oh, I just forgot that I DON'T use the Mary Kay face wash in the morning. In the morning in the shower I use Aveeno's exfoliationg face wash, because I have dry skin, so it helps out a lot.

I'm sad to say that I even read this thread

I use good old water. The key for me is to take a shower. Of course a good masq now and then doesn't hurt either.

I use the pads mostly because I am cheap and lazy. My skin also went through a change. I used to be very dry and now I am oily. I told my mom and she said to use the pads. All in one. I really don't know how the pads are used for hemroids. I also buy a bottle of witch hazel and add more in just to make them moist. Good luck.

I use a prescription face wash, in the shower. It has benzoyl peroxide in it. I don't wash my face at night. I had clear skin when I was a teenager. When I was pregnant with my son, I broke out with a patch of zits on one cheek. I thought it would go away after he was born, but it didn't. When I had my daughter, I broke out with a patch of zits on my other cheek. With my youngest daughter, I had acne all over my face. It was really embarrassing. I didn't like having my picture taken, and I was embarrassed when I would talk to people. I thought that they were thinking about my acne while they were talking to me. I tried almost every acne cleanser out there. Usually they would work for a couple of weeks, and then the acne would come back. Finally, I was tired of wasting money, so I went to a dermatologist. I used to have to wash my face twice a day and use a gel that was an exfoliant. Now I just use the face wash once a day. I am so happy!

I use Proactiv because I sell Proactiv. I LOVE IT!! I have combination skin and don't have anyproblems with it drying me out and it dries up the oil just enough. It also shrinks pores ( I threw that in there b/c of the question about hemorrhoid pads!) Any ?'s, just ask!!

The ProActiv system actually shrinks the pores, there's no specific product to do that. The 2 month supply is $39.95 + $5.95 S/H.

All you need to do is get one of the 30 day ads in the mail or see the infomercial on TV and call those numbers. Every phone # has a different offer.

I don't actually have the product at my house to sell, I'm one of the poor slobs that has to sit and take orders over the phone. Working for the man, so to speak.
