Missy, you mentioned on another thread about curling hair and keeping it that way. I have tried the hairspray and it hasn't worked. It almost seems like the more product I use on her hair the more it weighs it down and the less curl I get to hold. However, last night while I was working with it, I got to thinking that maybe I wasn't using enough. I don't like gel, I just can't use it. I did buy some curl enhancing mousse though. How much mousse would I need to apply to her hair? Then how much hairspray should I spray on each curl to make it stay? Would a pomade be better than mousse? Which brands would work the best? Chaos Unlimited has rescued me by donating a hair piece, for which I am truely grateful. I just don't know if my daughters dance instructor will approve of her wearing it, while she is Clara. I hoping she will. It sure would save me a lot of time and energy.

With the hairspray, was it aerosol or spritz? It has to be aerosol. With the mousse, put it on when her hair is dry. and do it with each section before you curl it. DO NOT use pomade. It is probably too oily and heavy for her hair. Good luck!

What is the difference between aerosol and spritz hairspray?

Spritz is the liquid that comes in a pump type bottle, aerosol usually comes in a metal can and continuously sprays until you let off the button. Spritz is heavier than aerosol because it goes on wetter.

Thank you so much Missy. I used the curl enhancing mousse and applied it while her hair was dry. Then I sprayed the aerosol hairspray while holding the hair in the curling iron. It took almost two hours, but it was done and beautiful. I was still worried about it holding, but even after changing costumes upwards of five times and dancing off and on for almost four hours, it still looked good. In fact it looked the best after about two hours after I curled it. I need to be able to do her hair in an hour, because I have another little dancer that I have to style too, so tomorrow I'm going to try pulling about half of it up under the hair piece Chaos Unlimited gave me and just curl some ringlets around her face and along the back. I didn't want to do this before, because I was worried about her natural hair NOT holding the curl and looking really bad next to the hair piece that was curly. Now I think I can get her hair to hold the curl so it will match throughout the night. Thanks again.
