I have noticed that the make-up trends are always changing, but because I'm a SAHM I don't know or see too many of them. I'm wondering what the new trends are. I like trying new things out w/ my eye shadow/liner and stuff. Any one know of any or try anything that works really well for you? My latest one is (and this isn't much) not putting on mascara. I read in a magazine once about a woman who could get her make-up on in 5 minutes because she did just the bare minimum. My eye lashes are definitely dark enough that I can get away w/o mascara and DH has hardly noticed that I've stopped putting it on most of the time. It's a great time saver for me and helps my dollar stretch a little further.

I find I'm also wearing the bare minimum to look good. For me that MUST include mascara, but I skip some of the other steps, like the shadow on the lid and the dark that goes in the crease. Overall, though, I still do what I think makes my eyes beautiful...trendy or not. I do try the smokey eye every now and then, but really...how often do you have an occasion to wear smokey eye. It looks a little silly in the carpool lane, you know?

I'm very lazy, and have never been good at looking good. My mom never wore make-up, and most of my high school & college girlfriends never did, either, so being "girly" doesn't come naturally to me. I've started trying to wearing more make-up & feminine clothes in the last few years, but it's all been by trial & error, with no feedback (I don't think DH even notices), so I may still look really bad... Nevertheless, I still try my best to look good. [My hair is another story entirely!] Mascara & lipstick are my necessities. Sometimes, that's all I wear. Even on "full face" days I rarely wear blush or eye shadow. I NEVER wear eye-liner because my eyes look even worse with it on, and it only seems to emphasize the dark coloring under my eyes. I can usually have my full face on in less than 3 minutes. If it takes longer than 5 min., it's not worth it to me.

Funny that I would start a thread on this.... I received a catalog in the mail about four days after beginning this thread that touches on this very subject. When I get a chance to go through it I'll share the tips I learn. Actually, I'm guessing you all got the same thing though so maybe I don't need to. Oh well, the timing is still interesting.
