Default Pregnancy Body Odor

I'm going to try and explain without giving TMI.

I have never had a problem with BO. However, this pregnancy has left me perplexed in a lot of different things and BO is one of them. I stink. I find myself taking two showers and day and trying all sorts of deoderant and sprays. The problem is, that it isn't just in my armpits.

Does anyone know of anything I can do safely during pregnancy? Is there a special soap, powder or spray I can use even in the most sensitive parts of my body that might help?

I tend to smell things that others don't and I sure hope that is what is happening in this case, because it is driving me crazy. I can't imagine how I would feel knowing that anyone else might be having to smell me too.

Funny you should mention this. I just had a conversation with three other women last night on this very subject. Not to say that I am prego, just that there are times when I can't even stand to be near myself because my BO is so offensive.

What was mentioned was using toilette wipes - I've never heard of these so I'll have to look into them.

What I use is powder. It absorbs any offensive odor my body releases. I sat at the store one day and smelled(is this even a word?) all of their powders and went with the blue Shower to Shower bottle of powder.

HTH!

I bet your OB/Gyn would have some suggestions. There are also some great body sprays that I like to use every now & then.

Have you tried simple deodorant soap? We women tend to use the great smelling stuff and not the masculine smelling deodorant soap, but when I find a bit more odor than I'd like I use his soap in the "under" areas where the smelly bacteria are having a party, and my nice smelling stuff every where else.

How about total body lotion? The way to get the smell you want (generally) is to layer. Using soap, lotion, and perfume of all the same fragrance is "layering". Do you lotion everywhere after showering? I didn't until a few years ago when I touched someone's skin and was startled at how soft it was. I wanted skin that soft so I started lotioning from hairline to toes. It helps when it smells yummy!

Thanks for all the advice. I'm headed to the store today and have a list of things to look into.

Good luck Dia! SO not fun.

I do bet, though that your schnowzer is probably just ultra sensitive right now. Not to downplay BO, though. There are enough other things women and moms have to worry about day to day, THAT should not be one of them.

I would suggest the OB, too.

The funny thing is, maybe this isn't a pregnancy thing, but an age thing. I feel like it is pregnancy related, because I'm having so many other "puberty" type systems. Greasy oily skin and hair, break outs on my chest, face, and underarms, etc. It is so frustrating, because I am already dealing with weight gain, protuding belly, swollen ankles and fingers and these little things just make everything a little bit more uncomfortable.
