My new goal for this year has been to walk 30 minutes 5x a week....so far things aren't going great!!! Because I have to do my walking on the treadmill when my kids are not around, (especially my son...he's so inquisitive!!) I either have to get up early or try and work it in during naps in the afternoon, which so far is not happening!! Getting up early is so hard, especially if my darling girl decides in the middle of the night it's time to get up. I can't wait for warmer weather....I can put the kids in the stroller and take a walk...it'll help me get my exercise and get my kids outside and into some fresh air!! Anyway, at least I'm trying and I do make it at least 3 times a week, baby steps!!!

Hey trish. It's nice to see you here. I'm right with you on the exercise thing. I know it would work best to just get up earlier, but when the baby has been up during the night it is so hard. I love to excersise with my kids. We put on music and dance and twirl and run in place. It is a good hard workout when you are constantly picking up a toddler to twirl or swaying and swinging the baby. Sometimes we even pull out scarves and ribbons to make it more exciting. Both the kids and I enjoy it. Not only does it teach them to be more physically active, it's time well spent together. Dia

Good luck with the walking. It has to be hard not being able to get outside to do it. Three days a week is good too. Remember to start with small goals. There are times in our lives when only so much is possible.

Have you tried doing it at night after the kids are in bed? Plus, then all the good shows on T.V. are on. I just thought of a GREAT suggestion. Go to Blockbuster and rent either LOST or Prison Break. Both are great series, but.... only allow yourself to watch it while you're walking on your treadmill. Trust me, you'll be so into them that you will WANT to get on your treadmill just so you can watch an episode.

Yeah that's pretty funny. I would also recommend 24 if you've not seen them. Very captivating. However, Prison break is the BEST period. I can't stop watching that one. Lost

Thanks for the great ideas Teeny and Dia Minh...I knew there was a great reason to just jump in and starting posting. I'm definitely in need of new ideas and suggestions for keeping motivated!! I'm sure Kolbie would love to dance and run around!! And I LOVE Lost...we have Seasons 1 & 2, I should re-watch them while I'm exercising!! Thanks for the encouragement and ideas!!

We are Lost fans too! My hubbie goes to Young Men's on Wednesday night, so we can't watch it that night. So we wait until the dvd comes out. Good luck with your exercising goals. It sure is a lot harder when you have kids, but do what you can. And be proud that you are doing it!

Lost ... I just can't enjoy that show. Waaaay too much drama, and not enough guns and blowing stuff up

I can totally relate to your situation. Our kids are about the same ages so I think you and I are still going through the unpredictable stage. For example, I have been behind on laundry because my washing machine and dryer are downstairs. My baby hates watching me go up and down and crys most times I am away. I usually stay down there about 10 minutes to fold and put on hangers. Then I have to go up stairs to put them away. Most times I have to stop in between to comfort her and then I usually get distracted with my older one. I've left wet clothes in the washer overnight 3 times in 2 weeks! I also have exercise issues because of my kids. You should go over to the stake center and do aerobics. There you can bring your kids and they usually stay entertained from playing with others.

My husband and I love LOST because we're both into the whole conspiracy thing, which also explains why we like Prison Break, we also love 24. Did you know RAR that you can watch LOST online? Just put 'watch LOST' in your search engine and it should bring up the site. (although for it to not be slow downloading you have to have a high-speed connection) It's awesome cause then you never have to miss it, nor wait for it to come out on DVD! (Sorry that has nothing to do with exercising!)

We tried watching Lost online once, but our connection wasn't fast enough. Plus, it didn't seem to have as much suspense, watching it at the computer. We love how watching the dvds, there aren't commercials. It is a lot easier to get into the show. I just hate having to wait for so long to see what happens, when people around me want to talk about the current season!
