Default Mountain Biking Buddies

I am getting back into Mountain Biking and I'm just wondering who's husbands (those that live in Tooele) have and enjoy mountain biking?

I know bookworms husband does, and I also know he's on the mend at the moment, so he's out for probably another month -- But I fully plan on doing some riding with him for sure as soon as he's able.

Anyone else have a husband that likes to ride? Let me know. runamyrun maybe? Although, riding with your DH (if he likes to mountain bike) would probably kill me until I got in a lot better shape, but riding alone isn't much fun, so if any of you have spouses that ride, let me know and as soon as I get my bike I'll let them know so we can do some riding.

Thanks

DH enjoys mountain biking, but right now he is focusing on trail running. Good luck finding a partner!

Yes, DH is still mending, but he is so excited about his mountain bike- he really put some time into fixing it up earlier this year, and he can't wait to get out on it, once his arm is free again. Definitely chat with him about it sometime, BS. I know Marc Taylor likes riding, and I think Dan Larsen went with them once, too. Good luck!

Oooh, thank you BW. I forgot about Dan Larsen, and I didn't know Marc rode (he lives so close you would have thought I knew) so I'll have to hit him up as well.

How much longer is your DH down for? I know the shoulders take some time (my brother had the same surgery).

Anyway, thank you for the leads.

The sling/brace thing is a 6-week part of the recovery, with physical therapy after for an undetermined amount of time. He's going back to work next week, though- in the brace. He's been extremely bored (when he wasn't hurting) at home, so I'm glad that part's almost done

Right, so he had the surgery 2 weeks ago? So he's got 4 more weeks in the brace then he'll start PT, which is not fun, but is how he gets his range of motion back -- which also usually means he can ride as soon as he feels he can do it.

Ok, so I've got another 2 months before he's even close to riding.

If/when I get my bike, I certainly will -- especially since I happen to quite like your DH.

I may not be getting one now though -- motorcycle might get in the way.

Give him a call if you do get one----he's been wanting to ride again for a long time now, but sometimes it takes having a buddy to go with to get out there and go.....he feels the same about you btw...

Boy do I hear that. Having someone to ride with is huge. I really hope to get one, but my friend that was going to sell his to me is taking too long and he raised the price to a place that's a little more than I'm willing to spend for a 2nd hobby (motorcycles being #1).

Default downhill mountain biking

I tried downhill mountain biking for the first time at Whistler last summer and really enjoyed it. I'm interested in trying it again, but I'm having trouble googling to see if our local ski resorts offer lift-served biking once the snow is gone.

So I have the following questions:

1) Do either Snoqualmie or Stevens offer this?

2) If so, when is the traditional start of the biking season?

3) Are downhill bikes rented at the resort or are they rented somewhere on the way?
