Default Step Aerobics

Okay so I felt a bit silly the other day. I went to an aerobics class that is headed up by my local church on Friday and boy was it tough. I used to do aerobics when I was in high school and did fairly well. I was falling off the bench and messing up the routine. It felt good though when others said, "don't worry I mess up to". I think I will go again. I am hoping to lose 20 at least by April. Hopefully I can pull it off. I defintely broke a sweat on Friday... Felt great!

What time do you go? Maybe I could join you.....I'm a little chicken, though. How did it go with kids? Was it hard to take them or not a big deal?

I just wanted to post to this thread again because I can't tell you how much the step aerobics are helping me! I have even missed a few days and I still feel leaner. I highly recommend it to those who want to get thier heart rate up.

Amber, I'm glad I saw your repost. I thought I was the only one here, who was not running. I love to dance and so areobics works well for me. I can't get out of the house much so I just do it in my living room, but I will think about you and LnF next time I'm burning up my carpet.

If your looking for a quick workout for those days you can't get to class and you want to entertain your children at the same time, you should try using the CD that comes with the Nursery manual. (for those of you that don't know what that is, it's a manual used to teach the 18months-3yr. olds Sunday School class) You can pick it up at the Disturbution Center for like a $1. There is a section called "Moving to Music" and one called "Musical Expression". My kids love it and I love that I can get in a good workout and play with them at the same time. It keeps them physically active as well.

AP, how are the classes working out for you? Will you hit your April goal, like you were hoping?

I really need to do this, atleast on Wed. and Fri. (those are my only days off during the week). I've gone a few times in the past and really loved it. I even bought a mini step, but never even got to use it outside my home.

Mainly I'm wondering if you're still going and if you wouldn't mind another tag-along(?).

I should be embarrased because I have been slacking this week on aerobics!!!

I guess I have good excuses though. I have been to the temple and have gone to the doctor and visited some family.

I will be there next week for sure.

MM - I would love to have you tag along with me. The more the merrier. LnF comes all the time (she's a great example... Comes almost all the time!!). FoxyRoxy also comes and it's a lot of fun when we are all together.

I love going to the step aerobics. I really hesitated going because I am not coordinated at all. But I am so glad I gave it a try. Anyone who has thought of trying it, really should give it a go. It is a great work out. I agree AP, it is fun when all you fun gals are there shakin your booties with me.

Okay so I just found out that Wed will be at 8:45 am sharp! The instructor that teaches this class usually starts earlier...But she doesn't teach that often. most times it will be at 9:00. They will tell you each time if it will change.

It is step aerobics and they get you sweating. You feel awesome afterwards!

I am so excited to see you there

I am so excited! Thank you for letting me know the details.

It's great that it's starting a little earlier. I'll have to leave right at 10:00. So having an extra 15 minutes will be awesome.

I'll be there, with my mini step. And now come to think of it, I'm a little embarrassed to have the little one. I don't know why.

(Okay so, I'm chuckling as I'm writing this because it sounds a little Freudian again. What is my issue?)

It's not like I need to compensate for anything, just 'cause I'm short - right? Teehee.

See you soon.

I don't know if we mentioned it but they provide steps for you. You can have 1 level, 2 levels or 3. Might be easier than carrying it in.

Yeah. That's what they told me last time. But then when I went, there were a ton of people, and not enough steps.

I had to use a lady's that wasn't there that day (and I had to wait until they knew she wasn't coming). And then, to top off the embarrassment I was already feeling about it, the owner's friend showed up right after that saying "Can I get ____'s step. She isn't coming today and said I could use hers."

Obiously I offered the step to her at that point, but she wouldn't take it. I just felt horrible through the whole work out.

Anyway, that's a long story just to tell you that I'll probably just bring my "mini" no matter what. If there's plenty big steps to go around, I'll leave mine in the car.

????Many years ago, I used to do aerobics all the time---but I've never done step aerobics----I don't think I've even watched anyone doing step aerobics.....SO pardon me if this is a dumb question---If I don't have my own step and all of the steps are being used, can you still work-out, or would one feel like an idiot trying to do it without a step----and would you still work up a sweat without having the step???
