Yogo? What's Yoga? Is that ... never mind, very poor joke. Uhm, there's got to be a Yogo class somewhere, but I've found that Tooele, seems to be less than Internet savvy when it comes to posting stuff online. I'd check the board next time you are at macey's as sometimes they have that kind of stuff listed on there. Also have you checked the transcript to see if they have anything?

I know they do yoga over at the church on some mornings instead of areobics. Amber might know when. I also know that one of the smaller gyms here in the area does too. I'm not sure which. If you haven't gotten any information before I get back I'll ask my WW buddies at my next meeting. Dia

Call any local Gyms. Most here offer at least one class a week. I live in a very rural area, and I can find classes. I used to practice yoga. Actually I studied it for over a year. Not the religion side, just the physical asanas. I was in the best shape ever, had great posture and I felt soooo good all the time. A big move popped up and I got really side tracked. I really need to get back into it. There is a show called, "breathing space yoga", it used to come on the fitness channel. Dianne Brunie is the instructor. The BEST yoga instructor ever! If you ever see it on, I highly recommend it. But for some stupid reason they (fit TV) don't run that show anymore, they have some other STUPID yoga show instead. Good luck

Quote: How long have you been practicing yoga? Have you seen any other yoga instructors besides the models on Namaste Yoga? I am really curious cause honestly I dont think its very good at all. Its just my opinion. But it is better than nothing at all. However I would recommend a beginner learn the correct way to do the poses/postures before trying to follow that show. I say that because a beginner will want to look at the TV for instructions. While doing so you can kind of loose the feeling/pose you are supposed to be achieving. Then possibly hurt yourself. For any one trying Yoga for the first time a good instructor is crucial so you do not need to look at the TV at any time. The instructions should be perfectly detailed and timed with breathing reminders with each movement. If you have to turn your head (at any time) to see whats going on, then the "instructor" is not doing a good job. Again, my opinion. I guess I'm a little OCD with the Yoga There used to be a yoga audio robot I used online when I started studying in 2003. I need to research and post up what I can find. Maybe you guys can try it out in your home.

No, its hard in the correct environment. I find it a little hard to do around my two boys who treat me like a jungle gym when they see me doing it. Thats one of the reasons I cant focus on standing postures then they are around. I stick to the floor poses. They love mimicking what I do. Actually its so easy and wonderful. There was a time (just over a year ago) when I could stand on one foot with the other leg raised and fully extended effortlessly. Without thinking, I caught my self shaving like that in the shower. One foot raising my other leg waist high in a soapy wet tub like it was nothing. It just happened gradually. I didn't realize how advanced I had become until I lost it all. Another good thing about yoga is it always progress with you. You can make any pose mild or extreme so there is always a challenge. I think I found a good free online class I used years ago. I just need to double check it before I post it up to make sure. Cant get my darn real player working!!!!

I've heard so many good things about yoga so thanks for telling me about it. You really sounds like you know your stuff. I've seen a book entitled "Yoga For Dummies" so maybe I'll start there. Thanks again!

Well my realplayer just isnt going to work for me. But I am 99.9% that is guy gives a nice easy to follow BEGINNER work out. You should be able to follow easily even though there is no video. It will give you a good idea of what a good instructor should be like... Again, I am 99.9% sure this is one that I started on. And enjoyed. After you have read some, watched some, and want some more there are more advanced free pod casts I know of. Anyway, this guy keeps it clear and simple, yet refreshing. Scroll about 2/3 down the page... where it says, "COMPLETE WORKOUT". Below that you can choose to listen to the whole class (about 42 minutes long)... or he breaks it up for you into 4 sections you can do a little at a time. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Its a little weird at first. I know. But try and see if you can follow for 30 minutes if you have the time. ![]() I sure wish I could get it to work, just to see if I can still do his class. I sure hope its the beginner one I am remembering ![]() Good luck

I have seen other yoga programs on TV and tried them and hated them. I found Namaste really easy to learn, and I didn't have to watch after a couple of times doing it b/c I had learned the poses. That was the problem with the other shows that I saw, they were too hard for me. Anyhow, everyone is different, but I do love yoga. I find it totally helps me unwind at the end of the day.

I am so glad to see you love doing yoga. It is awesome isn't it? So have you noticed any changes in your posture when sitting, standing, brushing your teeth, that sort of thing? No matter what or where you do yoga its always a gain! ![]() This thread has helped boost my buns back into it. Thinking about what it did for me and how now I am so far from that point, just makes me SICK to my stomach. Thanks mamallama

I've tried Yoga..once. I was following a dvd and really found it somewhat difficult. It was more of a workout than I was expecting. Not only that, my daughter found it intensely amusing, she laughed at me the whole time. I think I'll stick to the elliptical while the kids are swimming at the Y....at least I can do that without being laughed at.
