My favorite part of being a mom is seeing the potential in each of my children and helping them see that in themselves so that it becomes something they work towards. I love nothing more than seeing them succeed at something I know they thought at one time they'd never be able to do.

Having children around helps me see everything from a different point of view. I like to watch my baby crawl around and discover all the things she hasn't found until now. How she tries to pick up the pattern on the carpet at the library and gets mad when she reaches and there is nothing to grasp. Have you ever gotten down on your hands and knees and crawled around just to see what they see? I love it when my children ask a question I do not know the answer to and we take the time to look it up. Because so many things are new to them it is fun to learn right along beside them. I love watching them when they do not know I am there, when they are talking to a friend, playing with one another, sitting on someone elses lap, answering a question in primary, playing a game with grandma. I have noticed if I take the time to look at them through someone else's eyes, I can see what wonderful people they are becoming. Just knowing, I had a part in that, is an awesome feeling. Having children gives you the excuse to play. I have been a part of many games I otherwise never would have without them. Only a mother could put the dishes aside and play a game of Sorry without having to feel guilty about it.

This is a great board for me today. Today has been a great day to be a mom. There are so many parts of being a mom that are my favorite; like I said it was a good day. I love the hugs and kisses; especially when I don't have to ask. Hailey is running around naked after my husband gave her a bath and she just ran up and gave me big wet loves. It makes everything worth it. That is their way of showing appreciation for all that we do. I also love to her learn. She loves animals and we have been teaching her the sounds and actions they make. I guess it is kind of fun showing her off. I can't wait to come out to Utah and show Grandma and Grandpa how she can roar like a lion; flap her wings like a butterfly, bend her neck like a giraffe, and use her arm to make an elephant trunk. I just love to see their little minds at work. Essentially, I love being a mom.

I love most of mothering. I love listening to my boys read the scriptures. I love listening to them play the piano (most of the time!) I really love the heart-to-hearts with my oldest and the sheer physical joy my 7-year-old feels when he's happy. I love listening to my little girl singing (she provides background music for my life) and my 10-year-old taking care of her. I love taking my kids places and listening to them chat in the back seat. I love hearing the boys sing along with Weird Al or reciting Brian Regan jokes. I love baking cinnamon rolls or french bread for them. I love watching them play with their dad. Is that too many things? I always knew I would be a mommy when I grew up- and I'm so glad I was right! It is so much fun.

| I used to do alot of picture taking...mostly of inatimate objects...but when I had the chance to I liked taking candids. This describes a perfect candid picture in words: [QUOTE=Dia Minha;1528]I love watching them when they do not know I am there, when they are talking to a friend, playing with one another, sitting on someone elses lap, answering a question in primary, playing a game with grandma. | I love the smiles and the laughter. It never ceases to amaze me how happy my children are, their smiles reach all the way to their eyes and you can see how happy they are to be alive. I love the kisses , the hugs and the snuggling. I love watching my little boy play outside and explore, the smile on his face as he embraces being outside and seeing new things and experiencing new things. I love to watch my darling girl laugh and show her recognition of me and her daddy. Motherhood can be hard, but the smiles and the loves make it all worth it. |
