I made a blog entry about it if you want to read, but the jist of it is that I wanted about 3 months worth of meals in my freezer before baby comes (because school is still in session) and so if I doubled 5 different meals a week multiplied by eight weeks I would end up w/ 80 meals. I know there will be some times in there where we will eat out or will have leftovers so I felt comfortable only doing 80 meals. It's been working out quite nicely. One of the people in our ward found out I was doing this and even brought me over 3 frozen meals to add to my stash....it really touched me - to tears. I so appreciated her kind gesture and generous help. This idea came to me through inspiration and I was totally overwhelmed by it and I can't believe how many people's ideas and thoughts have helped me come up w/ a system that will help me get this done w/o completely altering my life. Anyway, this is probably more than you wanted, but I just couldn't not go on and on about how awesome this has been for me and how helpful people have been. I truly am blessed.

[QUOTE=runamyrun;8147]mini calzones (Thaw out however many Rhodes rolls you would like. Spread a roll out into a circle and fill with whatever pizza toppings you like but not pizza sauce. Fold over half of the roll and seal the edges with a fork. The thing I love about this is that I can personalize them for my family members. We all like different toppings. I place all of the calzones on cookie sheets to freeze separately. Once they are frozen, I put them in freezer bags. When you want to cook them, take out however many you need and bake on a cookie sheet for about 20 to 25 minutes.) Serve with warm pizza sauce to dip in (my husband pours pizza sauce over his.)[quote=runamyrun;8147]

Just wanted to say thanks again, RAR, for this idea in particular. We just tried it out last week and it was definitely a HUGE hit with my little girls. So, I thought I would give an official "Food Review" on the items.

DD1 and DD2 (and Tucker, the dear dog) give it an enthusiastic "two thumbs up!" It's a "must try" for everyone, raves mom. "I quickly pulled a few out of my freezer, popped them in the oven, over ate them a little while later (paired with fresh cut fruit), and the clean-up was nothin!"

On a critical note: I will probably combine two rolls next time, to make mom and dad's portions just a tiny bit larger (in order to get more yummy 'innerds' in there). The girls like the smaller ones of course, with just cheese. So, I figure that's a good way to identify the adults' food from the kids' food anyway.

VERY DELICIOUS!

p.s. It's my DD's birthday today and I told her she could choose anything her little heart desires for dinner (we could go out to eat, or I could make something special) and MINI CALZONES was her first choice. Wow! I thought for sure she'd insist on IHOP. LOL.

Thanks M&M! I'm glad to know that you liked it. We actually ate mini calzones last night. Yummy! I think you are really supposed to use Texas size frozen roll dough, which is like using 1 1/2 normal size Rhodes rolls. It is easier for me to find the regular size and I am too lazy to combine them. I used to do it, but my family doesn't really seem to care, so why go to the extra work! Happy Birthday to your daughter!
