Default Golden Squash Soup

I tried a new soup tonight that was surprisingly pleasant. I had never had butternut squash soup so I had nothing to compare it to. BS said that it tastes like a food they would make in India. Anyway, I had heard that squash was a comfort food - this soup definitely was. (Does anyone know why this is?) I kept wanting to go back for more simply because I liked the way I felt when I ate it. I don't know if that makes any sense.

Anyway, if any of you are interested in trying it I'm giving you the URL for the printer friendly recipe. It's really fast easy to make.

Let me know what you think if you try it.

Sounds interesting. How was the texture? Is it something you'll be making again and again?

DH isn't a huge soup-eater, so I don't make much of it. But, I just might try this one if your family liked it. I was thinking of trying another one of your old soup recipe posts (I think it's Ravioli soup). Do you make that one a lot, or was it a one-timer?

You put the squash soup in the blender so it's a very fine, creamy texture. It's definitely the type of soup you'd have as an appetizer.

The Ravioli soup is something we have had on several occasions. It's very filling so you really only need a salad and maybe some rolls to go along w/ it.

Hope this information was helpful.

Sounds yummy. I love soup & stew, and make at least once a week during the winter. I'll give this one a try. I think I'll cook the squash in the microwave first, though, to speed things up. It is also easier to cut & peel when it is cooked.

Good to know! If you try this recipe and do the squash in the microwave, will you let me know how it turned out?
