Lightbulb Procrasination Challenge

I saw this on another site and thought it would be fun to post here.

Pick something that you've been putting off, take care of it, and then tell us how it went and how you felt.

Then pick something else if you want to!

Oh, good one! I like this challenge.

I have been procrastinating re-painting the magnet boards in both my dd's bedrooms, since I got new bedding for them.

I bought the paint and a few cute little embelishment things, for decorations. I even took down the boards and put them in my hallway. And still they sit there in the hall, getting knocked over nearly every time somebody passes them.

I also need to make some new magnets to put on them, and print out some pictures for their new job charts. I really don't think it will take a lot of time to do it. I Just need to find time when the 2 year old won't mess with them. HA!

Is it cheating to pick something that I did last week that I had been procrastinating?

Absolutely not!

Ok so mine is a "laundry schedule". I finally did that this week. It's been on my mental to-do list FOREVER. I am really good about washing the sheets I sleep on, on a regular basis, but was very hit and miss for the kids sheets and towels and the rugs around the house. Now they all have an assigned day to get done during the month. I do sheets every other week, towels every week and rugs once a month. I printed myself a nice schedule and I'm going to frame it and hang it in the laundry room. (Framing just makes it look nice.) Woo hoo!

I LOVE this challenge...i have a lot of projects I just need to do and get them over with so I can do the fun projects I really want to do.

I HAVE to finish my pioneer bonnet and skirt for the pioneer trek in 2 1/2 weeks. I will finish them by tomorrow night and have them ready to go! Now. maybe since I've officially written it down, I'll actually get it done!

Ok I have to report that my son's sheets and my towels are currently in the dryer! Yeah, I love a plan!

My next thing was that summer meals plan. With good ideas from everyone (please feel free to keep adding!!) I now have 28 meals and the resulting month-long grocery list. That was something I'd put off for YEARS. It feels good to be all organized and I can't wait to hit the grocery store with my list and be done for the month (except for the trip back for fresh produce and milk and eggs).

I'm in such a "get it done" mood! Love it!

Got the boards painted! Yahoo. Thanks ER, for the nudge.

I still do need to finish up the magnets and pictures, but I feel great having painted and decorated the main pieces.

No!! Start today!

Today, I got my totally gross refrigerator totally spic and span clean. I LOVE a clean fridge...you wouldn't think I'd let it get so icky, but you kinda have to wait until it needs to be filled again (so that it's nearly empty) to clean it and that just doesn't always coincide with the urge to clean it, but it is clean and restocked today! I'm on a roll!

Reading accomplishment after accomplishment is very motivating! Thank you all for sharing your successes. Please keep sharing them with us!!!

Here's what I've been up to:

-I organized my desk
-I organized my vanity
-I organized my books that haven't been packed
-I organized the binder for my new calling
-I've packed away coats, gloves, hats, scarfs, etc.
-I've cleaned three major areas in my home from top to bottom

and the granddaddy of them all...

-I organized my laundry closet and now can see the tops of my washer and dryer so I now have a folding center AND have storage room for a year's worth of cleaning supplies!! Yeah!

I am happy to report that I did finish sewing my bonnet, two skirts and even an apron to wear when cooking. I also was able to finish a skirt and bonnet for one of the YW in our ward that had asked me a couple of weeks ago. It was such a productive day....AND it was so great to have that task completed and be one more step closer to being ready for the pioneer trek. I even got my sewing room and table cleaned off so I can start on another sewing project..now what to do?? I'll have to go thru my list of projects and pick something new to work on.

Thanks E for getting this challenge going!

Go, Trish!!

K, I cut off all the knee-holed pants that still fit the wearer's waist and made shorts out of them this week! Some of them were new to the pile, but some had been in the pile for weeks. And I made an appt with the orthodontist too. THAT I've been putting off for over a year!
