Okay, I had to turn my computer back on as I couldn’t sleep until I shared this thought/quote from the book. “What criteria determines whether a feeling or a thought is negative? When the energy of a particular feeling or thought obscures the truth of our Be-ing, obscures our perfect blueprint, negativity is created. According to Dr. Deepak Chopra, we all come here with a perfect blueprint, with a memory of perfection. Negative energy of any kind covers over this memory of perfection to some degree and slowly obscures the truth of our Be-ing. As the negativity mounts in our Be-ing, little by little our memory of perfection becomes shrouded and obscured. Consequently, our negativity creates a false-Self.” Wow this is HUGE to me. To think that I have a “memory of perfection” a perfect blueprint” somewhere locked up inside of me. How awesome is that??!! Can this be true? I ask myself……it must be…..we have a veil over our eyes so we can’t remember exactly what that perfect person we are working on becoming is supposed to look like……but each step we take in keeping the commandments and drawing closer to God….or in other words the more positive steps we take…..the more we can remember of that blueprint and the picture of our individual "Perfect Self" becomes a little clearer….step by step we can begin to see that perfect person we are to become….. WOW!! Talk about motivation to eliminate negativity from my life! Last edited by Mamallama; 05-25-2007 at 02:06 AM.

Boy Do I hear that Sister! I totally agree with it. Getting back to that point is another story, but none the less I believe it exists and WOW, you are right, mind blowing. Just wait until you get to chapter 3, as it talks about how a lot of the feelings / beliefs get imprinted in our DNA on a cellular level. I'm a little nervous for the women to read it, because it really rocked my world. I loved chapter 2 though. Reading some of that stuff, I realized that in NO way shape or form did Karol write this book without some serious revelation. The way the thoughts flow and tie together is absolutely amazing. I think I'm going to read chapter 2 again just because I know I didn't remember all I need to, and it was really jam packed with good info.

I totally loved that quote, too! I felt like it was a truth that I stumbled on and my spirit recognized it right away (through the Holy Ghost, of course) and was telling my body that "YES! This is true!" Can you see why it's important that our spirit governs our body? Our spirits know and remember so much and have to communicate that knowledge to our bodies and that doesn't happen when our bodies are numb with whatever we're over-indulging ourselves with in life (and sometimes that's just plain negativity). Our bodies truly are a temple! I know I say it all the time, I guess I constantly need the reminder. So the questions is, do you really believe it? Do you really believe that you once came from a perfect place and that you were as perfect as you could be before coming here? Doesn't the plan of Salvation make perfect sense? The part about our perfect memory becoming shrouded and obscured by negativitiy is sobering. I agree, BS, Karol Truman had some serious help writing this book. I'm thankful to her for "showing up big". Imagine what would have happened if she had been afraid of herself. There's no question that this is one of the things she was supposed to come here and do. I get excited thinking about how our family will be when we're ready to "show up big". Last edited by 5ft Diva; 05-25-2007 at 01:10 PM.

I hear that. Currently, I allow my fears to dictate how I act. I'm affraid to show up big. Pathetic as that sounds, it's something I'm working on. My habits are currently helping me hold onto that old me.

Your comment on fears dictating your actions ties right into what Deepak Chopra says about negativity. I can see myself in this statement. Interesting. I can't wait for more time to keep reading.

| Interesting how we were all struck by the same quote, huh? I underlined the same quote in chapter 2 as well as this one: Quote:

Oh how true. It's funny how we strive for this exact thing in the gospel all our lives, but for me I didn't "GET IT" until reading it in this book. The main thing for me is that it's a physical thing. It's a lot more than just spiritual -- We are trying to align our vibrations with Source (God), and in so doing we experience Peace and Joy...

I love that thought ER....aligning our "vibrations" to those of our Source...the Source being our Savior.....aligning myself to the right things seems to be my quest here in all areas......

My mom gets these "daily gems" sent to her e-mail. I thought this one was especially fitting considering the whole "DNA" aspect of our book discussion. We Cannot Do Wrong and Feel Right --------------------------------------------------- "In order to have joy, you need to understand that, as a child of your Heavenly Father, you inherited divine traits and spiritual needs--and just like a fish needs water, you need the gospel and the companionship of the Holy Ghost to be truly, deeply happy. Because you are the offspring of God (see Acts 17:28), it is incompatible with your eternal nature to do wrong and feel right. It cannot be done. It is part of your spiritual DNA, as it were, that peace, joy, and happiness will be yours only to the degree you live the gospel." Topics: righteousness, happiness, commitment (Marcus B. Nash, "The Great Plan of Happiness," Ensign, Nov. 2006, 49)

| I've had integrity on the brain ever since Sunday's R.S. lesson so obviously it's something that I need to focus on and refine. It doesn't surprise me that this post and the one from chapter 4 goes back to integrity for me. When we have integrity our inner compass is able to point to "True North" and therefore we understand who we are and where we're going. Integrity makes it easier to accept the natural flow of life, even though it doesn't seem natural at times because we can't see the big picture from beginning to end. Thanks for sharing this quote, MM. I hope you submitted it! (I know I kind of went off subject here guys, sorry, integrity is just what is resonating w/ me whenever I read these posts.) | Awesome thoughts 5D and M&M!! Things I really needed to hear. This thought rings so true in my heart: "It is part of your spiritual DNA, as it were, that peace, joy and happiness will be yours only to the degree you live the gospel." |
