"Most of us recognize that we are not just a piece of flesh. We are at least five-dimensional. By this I mean: spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and social. And, in order to be in tune or in balance and work in harmony and realize fulfillment, these five dimensions serve us much more efficiently and effectively if they are attended to equally." My question in this one might be kind of dumb but I was just wondering, how does one attend to these five dimensions equally? To me this sounds like attending to them all at the same time. I'm reasoning that this ties into our feelings somehow, but I have always kind of focused on one area of my life and then another, and then another, etc... and this approach doesn't allow me to focus on all of these dimensions equally. So not to say that there is only one way to do this, but if there is a way to approach these dimensions of our life collectively, how is that done? What are your approaches to this?

Attending to them equally doesn't mean that they all require equal time, effort and energy. For instance, if you are good with physical health- you naturally eat well and exercise is already something you do well, but spiritually you've been suffering, I don't think as much focus is required for the physical as for spiritual. Hmm... food for thought.

So you're saying these areas aren't necessarily taken care of simultaneously - that's what I was understanding the author to say. If this is true, then this is not a new approach for me - I'm already doing it. Let me know if I'm understanding you right. Last edited by 5ft Diva; 01-25-2008 at 07:57 PM.

I would agree, and I don't think she means for us to improve everything all at one time at the highest level. That's asking quite a bit.
